Comments Thread For: Bellew: Wilder Will Knock Fury Out in Three Rounds or Less!

This fight is so interesting because both this comment and Bellew's comments in the article seem plausible. Everyone agrees that Fury's chin cannot withstand Wilder's power but Fury at his most mobile would give Wilder fits. Watch when Fury got caught by Cunningham. 12 rounds is a long time to avoid one clean right.
I can see this looking like the Wilder-Ortiz or Washington fights in which Wilder probed and pawed with the jab while losing early rounds then landed a right for the knockdown.
Watch it again, Fury had zero respect for Cunningham and thought he could walk through him. Completely squared up hands down and got chinned. He got absolutely humbled before waking up and switching up tactics.
No way he switches off like that against Wilder.Comment

He's right about Pianeta not having the style to prepare someone for Wilder but who does? The weight/layoff/sharpness is an issue with Fury but there is nobody in the division who has Wilder's style. Before Fury fought Wlad he faced Hammer who is nothing like Wlad.
Fury was ready for Wlad because of his sparring and other gym work. With a sparring partner you can bring them in and ask them to mimic another guy's style, it's not perfect but is the best preparation you can have for guys like Wilder who has unorthodox punches and skills.Comment

Tony is chatting ***** again to justify being terrified of Wilder.
His whole 'styles makes fights' argument is terrible. Wilder will struggle against a mover and someone with good defense because he loads up so much and doesn't have good feet. Someone static who fights at mid range or someone coming forward is the ideal style for him.
Fury's style is a nightmare for Haye because Haye is a pure counter puncher, who is absolutely useless at going forward. Fury boxing on the backfoot at range against him would have neutralised all of his strongest assets.Comment

If you think he'll fight like he did against Cunningham then you're very much mistaken.

three rounds or less? I don't think so. Wilder hasn't knocked any decent level heavyweight out that quickly, and Fury wouldn't be the first.
But I could see it being somewhere around 7-9 rounds. Fury's legs can't possibly be what they were and his heavy body would take its toll on the dancing frame.Comment
