Ortiz lit up & stopped Allen in 7, Whyte took that same fighter to a boring 12 round decision.

Can't blame Ortiz for Scott throwing just 13 punches per round, he did knock him down around 6x in a shut out. Compare that to Chisora who was getting out boxed by Scott (Scott threw 39 punches per round), losing on all 3 cards prior to a premature 6th round stoppage.

Whyte also looked very poor vs Chisora in a razor thin decision.

Parker arguably lost to Ruiz & Fury (ranked behind Stiverne) too as well as going 12 in an incredibly boring fight vs Cojanu whom Ortiz took out in 2.

Brezeale isn't much better than Duhaupas if at all, they're both big punching bags. Brezeale arguably drew against journeyman Fred Kassi 1 year before fighting AJ.

Stiverne (former top 10 ranked ahead of Fury, Chisora and Ruiz) would arguably beat all those guys including Parker & Whyte. Wilder completely shut him out.

Regarding their resumes, AJ had a 5 year amateur career as a super heavy. Wilder's amateur career was 2 years as a heavy (200lbs or 91kg), it took him years to fill his body out & get better.

listen, if you enjoy 38 jabs in a row followed by a right hand, then the lean forward and rest your weight on your opponent type of style, then so be it. If you enjoy panicky fighters who will not engage while the opponent is punching, knock yourself out. As I said in other posts, Ortiz is better defensively all around than klitchko, he's a better counter puncher, better combination puncher, and especially against the older worn down version that fury and Joshua fought. Not sure who you're calling a youngin but based on your lack of understanding of what a boxing technician entails, I'm positive that I have more boxing knowledge and experience (in and out of the ring) than you do young buck.

Fred Kassi already had 8 losses and he arguably beat Brezeale before AJ fought him a year later.

Brezeale's lone win over Ugonoh isn't much better than Duhaupas' over Helenius. Even Whyte couldn't knock out Helenius but Duhaupas did.

In reality neither Fury or AJ have fought a better than mediocre heavyweight. Charles fl-ing Martin???? Whyte??? Parker??? A washed up Klitschko??? Fury was involved in hands down the worst heavyweight championship bout I thought I would never see. Klitschko clearly exhibited totally shot reflexes. It reminded me of Holmes-Spinks, only much, much worse.
As for AJ, I can see why he's reluctant to leave the UK with the home cooking he gets. He was life and death with a heavyweight that was active around the Lewis era, and gets much undeserved credit for something he is not quite yet, or maybe never will be. True, Wilder only has one notable name on his record, but the other two are in the same boat as far as quality of oppositon.

If you're going to use that straw man argument then it's so easy to flip that around and say that Ortiz clearly was decrepit/a cab driver, because Wilder's resume is filled with them. It's a bull**** argument.

It's funny how there's so much propping up Ortiz/tearing into Klitschko and vice versa here. The reality is that there are question marks over Joshua's win over Klitschko based on Wlad's inactivity.

The reality is also that there are question marks over Luis Ortiz based on the fact that nobody truly has a benchmark of what he is capable of due to his history of abusing PEDs. Since coming back from his suspension Ortiz faced nobody of worth prior to losing to Wilder for anyone to discern his worth (you know just like was the case for Klitschko v Joshua).

Trying to claim one win is better than the other is just laughable and nothing more than a fanboy agenda.

Joshua's first amateur fight was 2009, his last was the Olympics in 2012. Basic maths says that isn't 5 years.

Wilder finished with an amateur record of 30-5, Joshua finished with an amateur record of 40-3... so there's a grand total of 8 bouts difference between their experience.

Douglas resume wasnt bad particularly under 40 fights, he fought top legit and relevant guys like Tucker, McCall , Tyson , Holyfield . They may be few but any of these guys make Stiverne look foolish .

Wilder ? He fought Stiverne as a challenger and Ortiz going into the fight with a bunch of nonsense about health issues so we dont know exactly what the F was going on ?

A very dangerous fighter but one with the right competent opponent is going to lose ( and almost did ) bc you cant be assuming your going to go behind in fights stepping up and your one punch is going to land everytime , boxing doesn't work like that !

I so agree with this. It is why I still lean Joshua when they do fight. Even if you give Wilder a clear edge in power, Joshua has enough to keep Wilder from just winging bombs randomly as a clean shot from AJ will end your night. He is also a fairly calm and focused fighter. While I see him as a tad mechanical, he won't leave himself wide open for Wilder. Wilder has advantages over Joshua, but I feel on his best night Joshua can avoid a clean power shot and beat Wilder down slowly.

Problem is that Fury does not have great power, is not in very good shape (we will see how he looks next fight, I could be selling his come back a little short), and I have never thought he was that great technically. He just has been real good about using his size to stay out of harms way or his weight to lean into and smother his opponent depending on who he is fighting. I just don't see his skill set working against a hungry and motivated Wilder.
