yes i do have a copy and watched it many times. the arguement here is that he said he had never been koed . what did hearns do to him? it sure as hell wasnt a flash knock down. if there was something wrong with him it doesnt dismiss the fact he go ktfo.he said "I have never been knocked out" what the **** are we blind? did I not just see that right hand land on his chin? did I not see him fall helpless to the ground, knocked out?Last edited by {BrownBomber}; 06-26-2006, 07:31 PM. -

what I meant was that Morales always has something negative to say about his losses,he cant admit that someone beat him on that night. when he lost to Pac he said it was his conditioning, shots to the head etc... and the 2 loses to Barrera were wins in his eyes.Although I think he clearly won the 2nd fight he barely lost 1 and 3.Originally posted by Dr_CynicalWhat do you mean by the Morales comment?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Duran mention years ago that he said "no mas" because of his stomach?
So.. Wouldn't that mean that he has already admitted to saying that?
about duran all I read was the title of the thread and made I statment on what I had heard him say in an interview on a spanish channel a long time ago.Comment

I would think that most boxers would have trouble admitting defeat.
Wouldn't you try to play it off or make up some excuse or reason as to why you lost a fight?Comment

most of these guys are to competive to admit defeat. i would say "He was the better man that night and a rematch will prove that.I like guys like Arguello he was honest but fiercly competative.Originally posted by Dr_CynicalAh ok. Thanks for clearing that up.

I think ego is a major factor in how a boxer acts after a match, wether he wins or loses.Originally posted by !{BrownBomber}most of these guys are to competive to admit defeat. i would say "He was the better man that night and a rematch will prove that.I like guys like Arguello he was honest but fiercly competative.
I also think that sometimes they really believe they won.
I mean, if you had been fighting hard all twelve rounds and the decision was close but you lost.
Wouldn't you think that you had won? Even if it wasn't close.
Just the "high" of being in action the entire match would probably be affecting your judgement.
Maybe some of them don't realize they really lost until they've had time to calm down and watch their match.
I don't know. I could just be rambling again.
Anyway, I understand your point.
It is pathetic to constantly make excuses for losses and never accept that maybe you weren't that great that night or that your opponent was a better boxer.Comment

Yes, Im sure it happens a lot. I think the Winky Taylor draw was fair enough but Winky thought he blew him out.Even after some rounds where Taylor clearly won he would raise his hands.Originally posted by Dr_CynicalI think ego is a major factor in how a boxer acts after a match, wether he wins or loses.

Yes also, did you see the initial reaction of Corrales when Castillo koed him?he was yelling bull**** and didnt realy know what was going on.
ANd I understand yours but Morales is saying this even after he has had time to watch the fight over or think about it.Maybe he didnt feel like he looked in the Pac fight.Maybe after watching himself he would react but it wasnt the case.Comment

I commented on that in the last part of my comment.
Also, I didn't really see the rematch.
Did Morales give a good fight before getting knocked out?Comment

The best thing Manny did was have patience and throw hard body shots. He let the fight come to him by attacking with out using all his energy.Kept steady but hard pressure on Morales, used his right hand more effective especially to the body. He didnt let Morales' jab bother him and landed many brutal lefts that ultimatly wore down Morales. Morales was knocked down by a couple of clean blows but what made a difference was the body work that took Morales' legs from him.Originally posted by Dr_CynicalHow?
