I dont remember the fight being close. It seemed to me that Ray was always one step ahead that night.

ahead on the gas pedal of his bicycle. i only have clips of that fight and all it shows is leonard going backwards, duraning trying to corner him or get him against the ropes leonard going in the middlw of the ring back pedalling moving and moving and moving and clowning.

even leonards admits what was already said taht duran ballons up in weight and wasn't in greatest shape.

Duran didn't force anything in that first fight, Leonard stood in front of him and tried to **** it out with him off the ropes to prove a point, and if he'd been throwing uppercuts instead of those looping shots he'd have probably won that fight too. If Duran can't stay less than 80 lbs. away from his fighting weight, who's fault is that? Duran is a dirty fighter and he likes to stay close to his opponent. In the first fight, Duran succeeded in getting under Leonard's skin and baiting him into fighting Duran's fight, and most likely thought that Leonard would fight the same way in the second fight. When Leonard fought his own fight, he simply outclassed Duran, I don't think he ever hurt him, but he landed some hard shots when Duran came forward, and made him look foolish. After Duran waves the fight off, and Leonard runs away with his hands raised, it appears that Duran screams at him "Fight!" obviously disgusted with not being able to hit Leonard. Duran was a great fighter, but he was a dirty fighter and a sorry ass sportsman so yes, I like the Hearns and Leonard fights, I used to laugh whan I watched them.

Well what is worse? Quitting during a fight or having the ref stop the bout because you have hershey stains coming out of your trunks? I'd rather be known for quitting a match than having my bladder be the cause of my defeat. Duran would have literally had the "**** beaten out of him" by Leonard.

Oh well, it's in the past now. Duran is still a legendary fighter in my opinion. I have the whole Duran-Leonard II fight. I'll try to upload it on YouTube, if I only knew how? (Maybe someone can tell me?) You can also check out the Duran-Hearns fight, if it's still available. Duran was knocked out cold.

Duran didn't have to "say" it...he DID it...
