Duran needs to stop trying to re-write history. His body of work speaks for itself. Historians don't judge him on this one act of ******ity over the long successful length of his career.

No mas, no more, go away, I'm sad, I don't wanna play....whatever the hell Duran said still equates to him surrendering his title by walking away and refusing to engage, evan after Meyran pulled Leonard back and gave Duran the chance to fight on. I'm sure Duran regretted it moments after just as he regrets it now.

As for the stomach cramps excuse that's pure bull****. Duran's act of surrender disgusted his veteran cornermen Ray Arcel and Freddie Brown. Arcel continued in boxing but Brown quit the business over this fight and prior to his death gave an interview explaining what happened in the dressing room afterwards. Brown said they had to make a better excuse as to why Duran quit and the stomach cramp theory was born. Damage control nothing else.

Duran was a real warrior and wildman, its a shame his persona is somewhat defined by this one fight. Does he deserve flack for getting frustrated and wanting to walk away from a losing fight? Sure, but that is just a blip on his resume.

On the reverse side, its weird that Leonard's persona was all goody-two-shoes yet its been clear over the years that the guy is a total egomaniac *******.

*Oh, and as far as ****ting is concerned, if its a choice between ****ting myself on national tv and fighting or flat-out quitting, I'd ****ing quit. Its a lose-lose situation, I'd take the less messy road.

                  what happened imo was

Leonard humiliated Duran , he couldnt lay a glove on SRL an it bothered him then Leonard started clowning him an embarrasing him , duran realised people at ringside were literally laughin at him and he felt helpless to it an wanted it to stop aka no mas or no more

i think we should hold duran to worst status then guys that have taken HORRIBLE shellings for quitting in the ring...remember frietas? he was taken an ass kicking by corrales quit and was a "quitting ***get" over night .. but duran quitting because he couldnt catch leonard is leonards fault and duran should just be remembered for his work at 135 and his work at 154 except the hearns fight and the rest of the 80s subtract other loses he dosnt feel should count...

**** this guy you cant just pick and choose parts of your legacy that people are suposed to like you or not like you by it dosnt work like that
