When you loose a close fight in a split decision or something fishy, I agree.
But when you get Knocked of the top of the Mountain Ilke that, You have to beat someone on your way down to prove you still belong on that Hill.

Kov is now going to become Roy Jones jr sadly , not the invincible Roy but the Roy that gets ko’d and didn’t know when to shut it down .

Yeah, I'm surprised too after those low blows by Ward.

I give Kova about a 1% chance of regaining his belt. Alvarez showed how patient he could be, is a massive 175 pounder, decent skills and chin.

Kovalev will have to go back to basics to even have a chance- or move up a division. His hands were woefully too low in the fight with Alvarez, and I can't see him changing.

            I'm pretty sure he's finished.

Nope .... He's delusional... And I want to see the "immediate rematch clause" if there's one... He might have to wait for a while...

If anything I saw him with same body language he's been carrying since Ward... So Alvarez will be there with more pressure and the outcome will be the same, except sooner...

Kovalev is done as an Elite fighter... Better embrace a gate keeper career à-la Chilemba and pile up a bit for the 3-4 years he got left in the business...

You're only as good as your last fight in this sport. If he wins the rematch he's back on track.

Here's the thing. Kovalev fought a guy coming off a 14 month lay off. Alvarez took his best shot and wasn't hurt once. That was a soul snatching KO. Not only did he drop and hurt him. When Kovalev tried to fight back he hurt him even more... With punches he didn't even use before he hurt him. Alvarez is a smart fighter. It's hard to time him because he's good at disguising his attacks. He tried that same KD punch when Kovalev least expected it. He landed it quite a bit but he was going for the KO every time. Kovalev WILL NOT beat Alvarez in a rematch.

                      Kovalev deserved what he got!

If he had any character most wouldn't feel as happy about his defeat but since he tried to throw John David Jackson under the bus, ****'em! If he fights him again it will be the end of his career, and I had him ahead in the fight due to punch volume output and coming forward but attitude is everything so to think after being damaged I go right back and get my title is the wrong idea you have to work out the kinks if you can then return, not return damaged. I'm just saying!
