No consensus? The Lineal title has rules and obligations just like any title, it's not just arbitrarily given to any fighter because they're pretty. Ring magazine has been awarding the title for decades. In the old days you had to be ranked in the top 3 in your respective division and defeat another top 3 ranked fighter in the same division. Since GBP purchased Ring, the rules have been relaxed, now you have to be in the top 5 and defeat a top 5 fighter. Under the old rules Fury would no longer be the lineal champ though, he would have been stripped for not defending against a ranked fighter in his division a long time ago.

Lol at all the toothless Hearn fans wanting Wilder to fight Breazeale now. They are jealous he’s fighting Fury. Where was all this anger at when cheater Whyte ****** pulve and Ortiz?

carnt wait for this one.. at last DW will be fighting some one other than a 40yr old proven drug cheat..who nearly beat him i might add in R7.

fury will come to fight..its something that DW has not faced, fury has more movement,a better jab, a better boxing brain, better footwork, i see fury giving DW a world of problems..ala klitchko

Can all the haters agree that Whyte was totally correct in not fighting Ortiz for the second mandatory..... knowing now that even Breazeale won't be enforced until next year lol

Nah apparently he's a coward for fighting a young ex world champion and getting paid way more to do so.

I agree with everything you've said but need to point out that the lineal title and Ring Magazine title are not one in the same. Its only considered a lineal title fight when it's #1 vs #2.

                    It's because it's not 100% until/unless Fury beats Pianeta.

Let’s just hope this isn’t fake hype and we get to see this top scrap

It’s a dodgy one for wilder either way . He wins...it’s against a dude who hasnt fought a decent fighter in nearly three years / nose bag binge . If he loses he will look like a one fight wonder (in forty)

                      Interesting times ahead
You know D.Wilder gon drop Fury, you just hoping that so your boy doesn't face him....LOL....you dudes be sweatin when your favorites have a challenge ahead of them....LOL
