Whyte is world class, definitely not elite, but hes top 5 in any rankings, has some good wins, thats enough to be world class

British fans seem to be more nationalistic and are willing to support their fighters even if they lose. Hence why guys like Chisora and Khan still have big followings even after taking multiple losses.

One of the best things a boxer can do is link themselves to a football team, youre set for your career. Noone changes who they support, itll get you a kicking.

But you have a point, maybe here in the US we're more skeptical, I don't know.

He has a point, too much credit is given to the "undefeated" record that it overshadows the fact that a lot of fighters stack up these unblemished records fighting substandard competition.

It just seems to be the standard that just about all up & comers, and some fans live by now. I think that's actually one of the cool things about some fans, who pull for their fighter even though he's been beaten before.

I remember it quite differently — colorful character but was seen as a crook and you even then knew about his shady past of killing a man (or was it two?) if you followed the sport.

I recall very clearly when Tyson left his previous team for King (right around the Michael Spinks fight), Tyson was asked about it and was quoted as saying something about knowing he was in the room with a snake but it’s OK as long as the lights are on.

Don’t forget about the ABC U.S. championship tournaments scandal or any of a number of other things that were very common knowledge. I don’t remember any group of people ever saying “Well if King says it then I endorse it regardless” like I see with Eddie.

Says the Wilder fans who support him and his atrocious resume. Whyte has been in the ring with Joshua and Parker in 25 fights. Wilder has been in there with Ortiz and Stiverne in 40 fights. Says it all really

Not forgetting Wilder is the most watched fighter in the US, so don't go round accusing others when he's your biggest star. Haha.
