Of course he would. HEARNS was Steward's claim to fame, it was his work of art. It all boils down to money, when MANNY says he has a prospect that is "alot like Hearns", it gets the hardcore and casual fans attention. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF EMBELLISHING THE TRUTH. I'M SURE SOME OF YOU HAVE HAD GIRLFRIENDS AT SOME POINT IN YOUR LIVES, WE ALL SAID WHAT WE HAD TO SAY TO GET IT TO DROP!

People are saying stuff about the trainers as if they are supposed to develop them from scratch to be a good trainer.
"Taylor won the title with his natural ability, he was already a champion before Manny Steward started training him."

Trainers analyze the styles that makes a fight, train them, possibly tweak their style if it even needs tweaking, and work on a game plan, or multiple game plans.

If Jermain Taylor didn't have the natural ability to win the title from Hopkins, and got thoroughly dominated, do you think Manny Steward would train him?

Hell no. Manny Steward works with the best for a reason.

      He is the best.

Sure trainers make mistakes, even Angelo Dundee made mistakes.

(SRL vs Duran 1 etc) Horrible game plans executed.

But do you honestly think Taylor could have walked into a fight with Winky, and beat him with his natural ability alone?

Hell no. But he got the next best thing, a draw with the help of Manny Steward.

Not trying to cause a fuss, I just don't think these trainers listed are overrated, they are doing their job, and sometimes they have a hiccup along the way.

But isn't that down to the fighter?
