it's nobody's fault but when Roy fans make excuses for Tarver and Glen Johnson beating him they just bring up his weight loss/drainage. who's fault was that??

Toney's weight drop was more severe than what Roy did after dropping to 175 for Tarver.

his wins vs Hopkins and Toney are maybe the most overrated wins in the last 30 years.

Roy's best win in the 90's was vs Griffin.
I know why Roy lost to Tarver and Johnson......

He was 35 and 36 years old and was pretty much shot. It was obvious in the first Tarver fight. People forget that Roy turned pro in 1989 and had hundreds of amateur fights before that.

Why are you laughing? You act like you have wisdom Larry, but you really DKSAB.

Ali got dropped by bums and lost fights before his 20th fight. Fixed fights, Jones was never in a fixed fight. Henry Cooper was a bum.

Look at this shít! Cooper weighed 185 against Clay that night. You think he would have dropped Jones or even hit him at that weight?

Doug Jones tapped that áss in Clay's 17th fight the fight before Cooper dropped him like a sack of shít. Jones beat everybody in front of him and a lot of cats dodged him. If you can't tell who the better fighter is, YDKSAB for real.

Gene Tunney was a fůcking bum skill wise. Jones would have put that fool in a body bag in or out of the ring. Bringing up Gene Tunney, I mean --- are you serious?

      You think this:

      is better than this?

You make the same post over and over and never get into Boxing discussions or have any real wisdom. Typical Larry thread:

Title: Name X 5 best wins

Body of text: Post and discuss.

Bruce Trampler should get credit for Pacquiao if anybody. But I bet you don't even know who that is do you Larry?

Nah you're not wrong about those two.

        IMO.

You aren't necessarily wrong about Pep I was just curious as to why you used him as an example.

Lou Del Valle dropped Roy Jones.

Not that Lou Del Valle wasn't a good fighter.

Jones has a list of names he did not fight in his prime, longer than a list of names he did fight. Yes he looked great but he did so against some atrocious fighters but that is not to discount his achievements of winning belts at middle, super, light heavy and heavy....well heavy was a paper belt but whatever.

Also, Jones passed the eye test for a while but was always going to be susceptible to disciplined boxers (Tarver) and punchers. He does not rank as high outside of people who have just seen youtube videos. top 50 for sure.
FAIL. Roy beat several disciplined boxers at his best including Hopkins and Toney and didn't lose until after his prime.

                    He did?

How many did he beat? It's not that many.

He probably has more wins over HOF'ers as he beat Chalky Wright 4 times but Wright is one of the weakest HOFers ever and I would say no where near as good as Montel Griffin or Reggie Johnson for example.

This is why YDKSAB, Lou was Jones sparring partner in 95', they fought in 98'. Big difference there. Your sparring partners know your bag of tricks and you lose the element of surprise when facing them in a professional fight. Basics.

I swear on all that I love I found this quote after I typed the ^ content. I was looking for a source on the sparring partner link and found the below quote.

I've personally been through this. I used to spar with a nationally ranked Amateur that turned pro and started getting in his áss in our last sessions. I knew what he was going to do after doing close to 40 rounds with him. If we never sparred and fought, I would have definitely lost.

Anybody that spends time actually in the game knows this is true.

I like how you have a one sentence reply Larry instead of engaging everything else I posted.

                      Gene Tunney, smh.
