Ward takes it away from the judges this time by knocking Kovalev out brutally. It was an absolute slaughter. Now, people start whining about lowblows... Like, seriously? Lightning doesn't strike twice, f4qq0ts.

Ward moved up in weight, spanked the champ twice and people still refuse to recognize his greatness? Careful what you wish for. While I doubt a third fight between them will ever happen, you would really feel ****** if Ward beat Kovalev again. And he would. And you know it. What excuse to use next time?

History will not recognize these wins as controversial, it's merely something that certain immature fans have to get over and move on from. I respect Kovalev, but I also respect Ward. Respect should be given where respect is due. If a guy wins, accept it, unless there is talks of straight robbery or something.
history will 100% remember that the first fight was close. wasn't a robbery, but it was a very close fight. i was there and most people in the building thought kovalev won the fight.

history will also remember that the second fight, while being an otherwise dominant performance from ward, ended on a blatant low blow.

i am one of the biggest andre ward fans on the forum, mind you. i'm just honest about it. he's got a rep as a dirty fighter, and you can argue that he lost the first kovalev fight. those are not slights, that's just reality. he's a first ballot hall famer, the greatest SMW ever, and the best fighter since floyd mayweather and manny pacquiao.

Fair enough and I would also argue that the problem with the second fight wasn't Ward it was Weeks.

agree, it's weeks job to keep things from getting out of hand. he screwed hiimself by setting the standard early by allowing ward to throw low. and then he totally blew the end of the fight completely, that was embarrassing.

but ward's an accurate puncher and after so many years we know that he's not the cleanest fighter, really that he's one of the dirtier ones. so let's be honest about everyting. intent with the low blows, the reffing, kovalev getting his ass f#cking kicked regardless, all of it.

and of course you had scores of biased ward fans, who worshipped floyd mayweather and never watched a ward fight with any real investment prior to floyd's retirement, acting like the blows were clean.

Ward needs every little bit of an advantage that he can get. He is a great fighter but also a diva...and i dont like that part of him

It says a lot about our media and the fans when they backed a guy with a racial history, no remorse for killing a guy in the ring..over a guy who has no bad history and is a family man.
I wish people would just come clean about why they don't like Ward.
It wasn't until the Kovalev saga that people called WARD boring..prior to that I literally never heard Ward called boring

Also if someone is fighting you dirty, you fight dirty back, you don't look to the ref to save you. Not just Kovalev, I hate when anybody does that.

how was the second fight dominant? most cards had kovalev up. ward did almost nothing in that fight until the last round. kovalev was still in control snapping wards head around with the jab. ward could really only hold and hit and bothered kovalev with low blows every once in a while but no real clean work. wards just garbage. all his fights are garbage. kessler, froch, kovalev twice. all foul fest controversial fights. hey but hes got paul smith and brand.

yes kovalev has said some horrible things. he still won. just like hopkins still beat calzaghe after saying ****** things. are you saying we should pretend ward won just because hes a better person?

uhhh sure thing buddy. have you ever seen his fights? they are all terrible. if hes fighting someone who he views as a threat he just blatantly cheats nonstop. sure if hes fighting a brand or paul smith he will box cleanly but still not anything super exciting.
