How overrated is Abel Sanchez as a trainer?

His fighters tend to be one-dimensional and fight the same way.

Show them a little bit of lateral movement and they start hitting air, seemingly unable to cut off the ring.

I feel like he is overrated as hell. He has no game plan and has guys fighting the same way all the time, theres no plan B whatsoever.

In Gassiev's defense he's only 24 so there still a big window for improvement, but I agree his skill in there looked terrible.

ggg also could not cut off the ring vs Canelo without walking into counters.

what you want to do is take a very slow reflex guy like ggg and teach him the shoulder roll and counterpunching

We are roasting a young finalist now? You guys make me sick. I hope he doesn't let this fight get him down and learns from it instead. He still has much experience to gain.

                  I'm not saying that.

But surely he could have suggested better advice for Gassiev than simply "go forward more and throw more punches?"

I'm roasting his trainer. Not the young finalist.

I always felt that way. Not sure how good of a trainer he is but I always felt he got lucky ggg fell into his lap.
