If the contract had been signed it would have been AJ and Wilder's next fight and it would have happened this year. Otherwise, there's no way the WBA would have given Hearn time to try and get it made before ordering their mando.

It may not have been what Hearn ideally wanted, but after Wilder accepted his $15million offer and asked for a contract, he had no choice but to play it straight.
