If the contract had been signed it would have been AJ and Wilder's next fight and it would have happened this year. Otherwise, there's no way the WBA would have given Hearn time to try and get it made before ordering their mando.
It may not have been what Hearn ideally wanted, but after Wilder accepted his $15million offer and asked for a contract, he had no choice but to play it straight.Comment

That is speculation on your part. It gives Hearn the benefit of the doubt and ignores the launch of DAZN and how a Wilder/AJ fight impacts that.If the contract had been signed it would have been AJ and Wilder's next fight and it would have happened this year. The more the flaws are exposed in your arguments the more triggered you Britty boys become. Are you brain damaged or what? Of course money is the concern.
-Staging the fight in the US was off the table.
-Espinoza wanted it on PPV at the times you've stated.
-Buys at that time, and so close to GGG/Canelo would be less than if it were a month or 2 later. Meaning Showtime, HBO and DAZN would have offered less money. Joshua is NOT part of the original DAZN deal.
Are you following now? That's why a September fight became tricky and financially unviable.
Now I'm not a money man, and I don't know how significant that financial loss may have been but it's surely significant enough to reschedule for October or November. It seems perfectly plausible.
-Staging the fight in the US was off of the table because of Hearn and Joshua (mainly Hearn). So if money was the primary concern, they wouldn't have taken US off the table.
-Espinoza didn't WANT it on PPV at this time, but there are these new things called time zones, they came about around the time of the locomotive, and they dictate that if an event is occurring in the UK at 10:00pm then it will be occurring at 5:00p in the US.
-Buys at that time, and so close to GGG/Canelo would be less than if it were a month or 2 later. Meaning Showtime, HBO and DAZN would have offered less money... Buys are going to be low because of the time of broadcast as demonstrated by the low-ass viewership #s Joshua has int the states. PPV won't be happening for this fight in the US
So again, the date was openComment

Nobody cares about the $50m buddy, especially when one side aren't willing to send a contract. Wilder should have offered a bigger split to buy home advantage.

The fight was happening in the UK. End of story.
"So the excitement, energy and enthusiasm has largely been the result, certainly on their great performances, but also our investment into their careers and bringing them to the U.S. audience. For that reason it should be a Showtime pay-per-view. We've brought this to fruition and we deserve the opportunity to deliver completely." - Espinoza
Espinoza says nothing about time zones or fight locations here. He wanted it PPV. He wouldn't have been able to offer as much as if it were prime time in October/November, let alone so close to GGG/Canelo 2.

Not speculation .. looking at the circumstances and applying logic. Hearn asked the WBA to delay ordering their mando so he could negotiate a fight with Wilder, on the grounds that unification trumps a mando. Therefore, Hearn must have told the WBA that the unification fight would be AJ's next..
That was borne out by Mendoza's statement on why AJ vs Povetkin had to be finalized immediately, "because Deontay Wilder has not returned the contract"Last edited by kafkod; 07-05-2018, 01:05 PM.Comment

1. If it were about the money then they would've cared about the 50mil. So you're proving my point here. Also, that contract comment is the ******est thing I've ever heard because a contract wasn't sent to Wilder's team until they agreed to terms. SO why should a contract have been sent to Hearn without an agreement? Since when are things done that way, Hell Hearn doesn't even do it that way. That's a dumb talking point that that slimeball gave you stans to defend him withNobody cares about the $50m buddy, especially when one side aren't willing to send a contract. Wilder should have offered a bigger split to buy home advantage.

2.Yes Espinoza wanted PPV, no one doubted that, but where does it say he wanted PPV at 2:00pm pacific time? Again, if you were smart enough to know how time zones work, you would know that once they decided it HAD to be in the UK then there was no other choice than to PPV it at 2:00pm pacific. And why are we even talking about this when I just showed you that DAZN was Hearn's plan the whole time. You've even stated that the only reason SHO was regarded at all was because of Wilder's loyalty, which Hearn would not consider at all when making his platform decision; so why should anyone believe that the date was selected to make room for a SHO PPV?
3. If it were in Vegas or NY in October/November then Espinoza would've been able to offer much more than he would for a fight that will take place during a time slot in which Joshua has failed to draw multiple times. Where do you think the 50 million offer came from? So again, they can't blame money for the date selection.Last edited by MC Hammer; 07-05-2018, 01:35 PM.Comment

Lame
A heavyweight champion should be fighting more than just twice a year, 3 times at the least. That is a long break between September and April. What happened to fighting Wilder in February of September fell thru? ....all talk. Wilder wants it, this is likely all Hearns doing.Comment
