If Povetkin wins...

Yeah well I don’t know how anyone can support a so called Champion talking about “freezing” out his #1 rival.
That’s unmanly in my book, this is prize fighting and I can understand waiting until you feel ready for the challenge or to hype the fight more but to say you will willfully not fight someone for no real reason other than I make more money than you is disgraceful.Comment

The big paycheck won't be there anymore.
The fact is that AJ's fanbase relies massively on the casual audience. About 95% of his fights attendees don't really follow boxing, hence why he can sell out stadiums v Takam, they don't care who the opponent is, it's just a popular event. once he loses, the fickle fanbase will disappear and it'll be back to fighting at the o2 Arena.
That's why Hearn hasn't been keen on the Wilder fight. He'd rather sell out a few more stadiums v lesser opposition and milk AJ.
They wouldn't even be fighting Povetkin if it wasn't mandatory, it'd be someone like Miller or a Whyte rematch.Comment

once most fighters get to this point, they try to maintain it without risk. Even Hearn said ideally he doesn't want this Povetkin fight, but it's a mandatory. AJ can make the same money fighting worse opponents.
I'm sure AJ might be up for challenges, but the money men around him want to protect the cash cow they have built.Comment

At least people can actually ask these kind of questions when Joshua fights. Unlike with Wilder and his merry-go-round of bums. Although, to be fair, Wilder does struggle a lot and does come close to being beat. Haha.Comment

We all want to see the fights. But if one of the fighters ask for ridiculous demands, the odds on the fight happening are quite slim. So everyone should be willing fighters to be fair at the negotiation table and not willing them on when they want extreme terms in their favour.Comment

... If Povetkin wins...
... well, Povetkin is likely to have three options:
1) a huge money rematch at the Wembley, in April...
2) a Ryabinsky-type fight in Moscow (vs Joshua or vs Wilder)...
3) a unification fight vs Wilder, in Las Vegas (for that $50 million purse we are already aware of)...Comment

theres all the proof you need right there...wilder was willing to fight whyte and then AJ...and hearn wouldnt even let that happen or make that promise in writing
thats exhibit A...exhibit B is what just went down....no date or promise that it was NEXT!
You really are the most ****** poster on this forum. Without a shadow of a doubt.Comment
