Same as with Sky in the UK. You can't have a fighter from the UK or Ireland fighting on sky box office or Saturday fight night without Hearn having a split.

He got a fat split for the Klitschko / fury fight on sky..and neither fighter obviously had anything to do with matchroom.
So he gets a split of Bellator money and fighters also? If that’s true which I doubt Haymon would probably just be smart enough to start DAZN UK there’s no exclusivity for that market.

I love that it'll allow his fighters to fight more frequently, but I don't like that they'll be in front of a much smaller fanbase

Because DAZN made a deal with MATCHROOM. They bought rights to the WBSS that didn't have anything to do with Hearn supposedly, but if Haymon fighters go to DAZN, it will be on Hearn's cards. The $125 million per year he got to spend on boxing? Yeah, the money would come off that budget. DAZN isn't going to make a deal with Haymon for anything similar. I mean if they did, then they completely wasted money making that deal with Hearn.

Without a doubt. So far the sports they have picked up are I think racing, Bellator and then boxing with Matchroom. ESPN+ on the other hand has rights to TR, some NBA stuff, some NFL stuff and some MLB stuff. So DAZN has rights to niche sports while ESPN+ has rights to the main sports in the United States. DAZN is certainly up against it and won't truly be able to take off until they get digital rights to the NBA or NFL which won't happen until 2020 or 2021 at the earliest when those deals are up.

This is why Hearn always wanted to delay the Wilder/Joshua fight until 2019. Gives the streaming service more time to build and he's hoping the Wilder/Joshua fight will attract a lot of subscribers. It will seen by barely 50k people if it takes place on DAZN in October or November. ESPN+ supposedly has around 200k subscribers and that streaming service has the main sports while also being only $5 bucks per month compared to the $12-15 DAZN will charge.

No I mean purely boxing. Hearn has no say over non boxing content on DAZN as it wouldn't infringe on his market or territory really.

Yeah.. I could go into a billion reasons why DAZN UK simply won't fly. Haymon wouldn't touch that with a bargepole.

DAZN arent going in the UK. If they did they would need to purchase content relative to the UK so sustain a customer base. They simply don't have the money for that and neither does haymon.

Do you have any idea how much sky and BT pay for their individual packages for the EPL?

Sky payed 3 billion for 3 years for half of the match packets up for tender .. BT paid 1 billion for their lesser watched time slot matches.

Amazon paid nearly 100 million for 20 midweek evening games which is the lowest package out to tender. Somehow I don't think haymon or his funders have that sort of dough..no matter how mercurial some here think he is

From what I hear DAZN has an out if Hearn doesn’t deliver in the first year. That definitely leaves the door open. Time is ticking and if that’s the case why wasn’t Fury Klitschko promoted by Hearn?

What are you talking about? Why are we talking about Fury/Klitschko when that fight didn't take place in the United States nor on DAZN?

DAZN has a two year deal with Hearn with an option of six more after that. Any card that is on DAZN in the United States will be under the Matchroom banter, unless it is from the WBSS which was a separate deal than the Hearn/DAZN deal.

Lmao comparing the biggest sport in the world soccer to boxing is your first mistake. That has no relevance to boxing. Why would you even compare PL to Boxing? Question is how much are they paying for BOXING?

They simply don't have the money for that and neither does haymon.

Lol underestimating Al again. The guy who just offered AJ and Eddie 50 million dollars. Combined with DAZN he could definitely do it. All he would need to do is bring in someone like David Haye to solve the problem you’re talking about.

he can’t do that. Hearn has exclusive contract with DAZN. Just like he can’t go to Espn to do a deal because TR had an exclusive output deal.

Wasn’t Fury Klitschko on Sky Sports? Doesn’t Hearn have an exclusive deal with sky like he does DAZN.
