On the other hands, once again wankers here who have never done a thing on negotiation keep squeaking. Have you seen the contract of the boxers? Have you see their marketing team's research? To you folks, I say, keep crying

And are we pretending that Jacobs and Lemieux have names? Neither one of them is nearly as popular as Amir Khan. Here's google trends to illustrate my point:
Golovkin vs. no name drew 160k PPVs 2 days ago. Canelo drew 300k. You're also not including the growth of their reputations. Canelo was riding career high reputation after Mayweather, he was the heir apparent. Golovkin was not known well when he fought Jacobs, and definitely wasn't known well when he fought Lemieux. Golovkin's reputation and name power has increased exponentially since 2016, as he absorbed some of Canelo's star power. Canelo's rep if anything, has taken some hits recently, from the bad judging to PED scandal.
Folks that keep trying to pretend that Golovkin is not a name and makes peanuts need a reality check. In media, he's hot on Canelo's heels in terms of popularity. He's making good amounts of money.
There's a reason why no matter what Oscar has been saying for past month, the fight was never dead. There's a reason why they're willing to come up to 40%+. They know the value of the fight, and the value Golovkin brings.
That's all that really needs to be said - look at Golden Boy.
and no, jacobs was not a noname, he ktfo quillin on national tv in front of a ton of viewers, compared to liam smith who had never been in the us or us tv before...

Golovkin's best number is 170K. Golovkin is not a PPV star. I am not arguing that. He is clearly the B side. Canelo is clearly the A side.
That said Canelo alone is not going to bring over a million buys. He has to have a known opponent to get over 400K. That was demonstrated when he fought guys like Smith (300K). When he has an opponent with name recognition he does well. And the biggest fight he has done post FM is Golovkin. That is not an accident. Golovkin brings fans in.
The fact GBP is offering over 40% should tell you "lil G" helps in a significant way GBP/Canelo to make money. But you "lil g" boys are so wrapped up in your menstrual cycling about Golovkin that common sense flies out the door.

GBP offering a bigger split is nothing out of ordinary. Their fighter needs to regain confidence, and legitimacy and its the biggest possible fight in boxing right now so the finances make sense. Clearly they have done their market research and know this fight would do better than the previous one before dishing out the offer.

i said this before, if ggg stays at 50-50 and fight doesnt get made then he will be at blame imo, but nothing wrong with trying to get more money, in fact i said before that the 60-40 split seem to be the way to go imo and that is back when it was 65-35, and could end really close to that...
