I like Canelo vs Jacobs, Danny has a chance if he don't lose focus how he did fighting triple g.

I think he has more than a chance. Canelo does not realize he is only 5'8 1/2 and that would be being extremely generous to him. When he that height fighting someone 6'0 with any type of decent agility or athleticism it's trouble giving up a lot of length we talking about a guy in Jacobs that really could be fighting at 168. I don't believe it 1 bit and if they were going to go that route they might want to fight a tall guy in Spike 1st to get Canelo used to fighting these big huge 160lbs guys.

My post was in reference to me having doubts that Canelo v Jacobs happens (which we seem to agree on) and how the fact that Canelo fought the much avoided Lara when he was younger isn’t a convince argument to me because in my opinion he was less prone to selective matchmaking then and would fight anyone. Ggg’s resume isn’t really relevant to my point.

Do you agree or disagree that Canelo has become more of a prima Donna since becoming the A side, and does it matter who Golovkin has or hasn’t fought when asking yourself that question?

As it happens ggg also frustrates me, he should take the 60-40 in my opinion as he’s running out of time to build his legacy and years from now measuring him by how good he looked beating B class fighters isn’t going to cut it as true all time great.


If Canelo v Jacobs happens and ggg doesn’t fight a top fighter he’ll rightly get slaughtered on here, vice versa if Canelo fights spike or Lemieux and ggg fights Saunders.
Most interesting scenario though would be Canelo v Jacobs and ggg v Saunders both to get made with the possibility of revisiting Alvarez v Golovkin next May.

Disagree on the resume most of the guys on GGG's resume beat the guys on Canelo's resume...Canelo took the Mayweather route to stardom in facing lots of guys that were over the hill..

Just pointing out the obvious. Without a big name. Neither Canelo or GGG can do over 1m ppv buys. Canelo's name alone is good for 300-500k buys tops so Oscar needs to stop acting like Canelo's last name is Mayweather or something cuz it's not. Now I never said GGG should get 50% but if we crunch all the numbers the split should be more like 55/45

One guy does 1M sold even by your own admission without GGG last year but GGG does 97-150K buys without Canelo and somehow that equals 55/45 split? H0e please. You get paid on what you bring to the table not based on fanboy emotions. And cherry picking 1 fight 2 years ago which still did DOUBLE any GGG ppvs doesn't change that. Of course Canelo needs a name guy so does floyd by the way. Do you remember Floyd/Berto which only did 400K buys and GGG fangirls like you screaming and laughing about it only to look like phuking idiots when GGG does a PPV months later and it does 97K. It puts shyt in perspective. Canelo and Floyd are on a different level then guys like GGG. They fight bums or mismatches and it's still on PPV and would be career highs for other fighters like GGG. You put them in with other big names or in fights that people feel is a risk they might lose they sell much more. So of course Canelo needs a bigger opponent or name guy, so does Floyd so did Manny in his heyday too but GGG isn't the only one out there. You saw that last year with Chavez selling 1M ppvs. Chavez hadn't fought on PPV in half a decade and was pulling shyt ratings on showtime and fighting on Bein Espanol his last fight before canelo because Showtime refused to pay for it. Canelo/Khan did 600k, Canelo/Cotto did 900K, Canelo/Chavez did 1M. He doesn't have to sell over 1M in Sept if he does 500K buys he is still making 20M selling PPVs GGG can't even dream of and making paydays GGG will never see. There is no reality where one guy makes 20M and sells all these PPVs yet the guy who can't sell PPVs to save his life and is making 1M and 2.5M paydays is on a equal standing and worth 50% or even 45%.

Last time I checked the hold up for Canelo vs GGG in Sept. was all about the split up of revenue which is calculated by past PPV performances which includes ppv buy rates...If u don't like it maybe u should go find something else to whine about on another topic.

I don't think any sensible boxing fan thinks that golovkins resume is better

you have to consider I'm talking resume...not wins/losses either perceived or real.....im talking about the fighters on the resume

consider that golovkin and Floyd were both considered p4p #1(at worst golovkin was top 3 when they fought)....canelos resume spans 3 divisions with several HOF fighters on it.....the only HOF on g's resume is canelo who is still only 27...conversely the best fighter on G's resume had 0 wins at the full 160 limit
