I'll stick with 1 million. Chavez did 500k with Martinez and safe to say he was the draw at that time. So basically Jr name alone brought 300-400k buys Canelo name alone 400-600k
figures are stated by multiple industry sources, if Rafael backs it up i will take his word over yours...
but it doesnt matter, it just goes to show you that him and ggg are in a different league...

*** it Canelo/ Chaves did TW0 (2) PPV buys. Happy now???

Or is TWO still to high???
Last time I checked the hold up for Canelo vs GGG in Sept. was all about the split up of revenue which is calculated by past PPV performances which includes ppv buy rates...If u don't like it maybe u should go find something else to whine about on another topic.

I HATE mismatches and refuse to watch them. Only reason I watched Vanes was I had a $300 bet that it wouldnt last past round 4.

If Spike beats someone worthy and makes #1 and Canelo has to accept the mando I wont Bi@tch about it then. Until he does he doesnt even belong in the same dressing room with Canelo let alone the ring.
        totally agree...

Last time I checked HBO = ESPN. and Dan R has been proven wrong on more than 1 occasion.

Canelo/Smith isn't even a top 10 Canelo fight yet it made more money then any GGG fight filled 52,000 in a football field. Smith is basically Vanes yet the difference is Canelo can still fight guys like that and sell PPVs and fill seats. Vanes fight sold about 4K tickets and they gave away a few more thousands for free. Couldn't even get 8,000 people to show up. Love how you keep trying to ignore Canelo/Chavez 1M, Canelo/Khan 600K, Canelo/Cotto 900K. When he fights anyone the public has actually heard of and seen he drawing 600K-1M PPV buys. GGG even with quality names sells 97K buys with lesser names he isn't even fighting on PPV. One guy is a star that fans actually care about enough to buy their PPVs the other isn't. GGG would sell his left nut to be able to sell 300K PPVs in a fight and that is the worst Canelo has ever done LMAO
Just pointing out the obvious. Without a big name. Neither Canelo or GGG can do over 1m ppv buys. Canelo's name alone is good for 300-500k buys tops so Oscar needs to stop acting like Canelo's last name is Mayweather or something cuz it's not. Now I never said GGG should get 50% but if we crunch all the numbers the split should be more like 55/45

That's great but don't pull up an article saying the fight is LIKELY to do over 1m when final tallies are not released that means 1 thing. It didn't do over 1m buys..Simple as that.. Every other source is either estimates or is at 1m flat..

                • I like Canelo vs Jacobs, Danny has a chance if he don't lose focus how he did fighting triple g.

if canelo fights Jacobs its a dangerous/good fight for him(although I still have serious doubts it comes off)....and canelo will look good by just taking the fight

meanwhile lil g will be stuck with tough mandos for peanuts....and they might not see canelo again=bad move...no other way you can spin it...if it turns out like I just described that is horrible for golovkin
Dude first of all, the fact that I don't agree with you doesn't make me a GGG fan. I am just stating facts. I actually don't care about the rematch anyway.

Quite frankly I don't care how much money a fighter makes. All I care about is for the top fighters to fight each others.

Besides I am sure GGG or Canelo is gonna be fine financially no matter what. Doesn't GGG have endorsements with Hublot and Air Jordan? I am pretty sure he has enough money to be happy.

                    • First of all Golovkin should sue Canelo’s ass for breach of contract and resultant loss of revenue. Secondly, Jacob’s is a dangerous fight for Canelo and IMO Oscar is spewing BS again by suggesting Jacobs as an alternative. I suspect something will happen to derail that option as well and O’Sullivan will be rushed in to substitute.
