He had the chance to fight there june 2017 for the undisputed middleweight championship of the world with hbo televising and he chose to be oscar's ***** instead.

he got a draw and now he doesnt get a rematch and he is on the verge of getting stripped.

Oscar is right, nobody has a dumber fan base than Canelo. Oscar can put him in the ring with a heavy bag filled with **** & his fans will buy it. Just like they did with Chavez jr (who basically was a heavy bag of ****) . But don't be fooled, Oscar won't put Canelo in with jacobs in Sept. He's just using his name. It'll be Canelo vs spike. Jacobs is too risky for Canelo and won't bring in the amount of money necessary for Oscar to risk the 1 fighter on his roster who matters.

The Golovkin fight did a bigger gate and a higher pay-per-view buyrate.

that still doesn't give ggg more leverage than what cotto had back then. There was a higher demand for canelo vs ggg than cotto vs canelo but that doesn't make ggg a bigger star. Chavez jr did better numbers vs canelo than cotto did but didn't have the ppv leverage cotto had. Just like Joshua will do better numbers vs Wilder than he did vs klitchko but wilder isn't a bigger star than klitchko. It's about demand for the fight. Trust me, I'd love it if ggg got a 50/50 split with Canelo. But it won't happen. 55-45 is fair imo.
