I think Joshua is aware of his image, his popularity in the UK and is sensitive to fans. He says all the right things.
But I also think that if he had his way, he'd take the money. That's why he said $50m in the first place lol.
The decision to counter that offer with a deal worth less money (wtf?) reeks of Hearn, the promoter who would have no say if the fight was in the US.Comment

yeah, give povetkin wilders opponents and theres a high chance hed be 40-0. Ortiz would be a tough fight but it was a tough fight for wilder too, he was nearly stopped. i do think wilder is a bit more dangerous but theres not some huge gap in quality like people will make out. both gonna be relying on a hail mary punch against joshua. You won’t get much response from Wilder fans on this, they don’t like to look at boxing records much, understandably given who they cheer lead for.
Two half decent opponents in 40 fights still has me wide eyed, and even those two were stiffs for different reasons. Seven defences and just two ranked opponents...really it’s a joke he even has fans, says a lot about the state of US HW division.Comment

The first offer made to Wilder was worth his whole career and more.
The offer made to AJ wasn't worth his last 3 fights combined.Comment

I thought that was the whole pont - AJ said he'd only fight in the US if he was guaranteed $50M and then he had his bluff called.Comment

Wilder has been saying he's willing to go to the UK before he put up the $50 mil. Wilder has always said he wants to be a World champ which means fighting all over the world. Wilder had no problem going to Russia. Joshua is the one who has always talked about not fighting in America. I think I wrote a topic about that last year. It's been clear since forever that Parker got like 7m or so. Impossible to compare.
And also, I'm not saying Wilder doesn't the fight. But he clearly doesn't want to go to the UK (if he doesn't have to)
He, just like AJ, is accepting less money to have it in his home country.Comment

you seems a coward yourself for defending a man that cannot fulfil his words.
"I will fight anywhere, it's not about the money ".
Now is the time and he is nowhere to be foundComment

You seem quite bitter, are you OK?
If Deontay turns this down he goes down as the biggest chump in history. And don't talk about $50m. That is Joshua's money and he can do whatever the hell he likes with it. $50m was never exclusively linked to a US location anyway.
If Wilder earns more on the US deal than the UK deal then tough ****. Beggars can't be choosers. He should have made himself the A side 20 fights ago and put himself in the driver's seat.Comment

Hearn is one of the best promoters in the sport whether you like it or not. Wilders promoter made him fight 38 tomato cans. People and fanboys lie but numbers dont.Comment
