stop going off topic. we're talking about fighter's picking who they want to fight. we're not talking about expired contracts, getting robbed, etc.

for years you guys trashed manny for not speaking up. yall said pac has the final say and arum works for him.

but then now you're flipping saying the promoter has the final say.

    • Unify against Garcia-Porter and a returning Thruman, then Crawford for all the marbles.

      • This **** not happening until 2020 smfh. I want it at least by the end of 2019. First Garcia-Porter, than Thurman in the middle of 2019 and then Crawford.

The topic was Manny, was it not? Manny did not have to sign an extension with Top Rank. Frankie Gacal even said Manny needed to leave TR, because Arum was the main obstacle to him fighting Mayweather. He also said he never saw the contract Manny was supposed to have signed! Three other fighters that were of the same stature as Pacquiao had already left TR, to go to bigger and better things! Manny decided to remain with TR! That's why he got the criticism he got!

Everyone knows that the promoter has the final say! That's why so many fighters now fight without promoters! They might not always get the fights they want, but it's better than paying someone to be an obstacle in making fights!

          March 5, 2018:

Fourteen undefeated boxers had gathered inside the Cipriani ballroom in Manhattan in January, as Showtime — in partnership with Premier Boxing Champions — announced plans for 10 main events running through June. But among the fighters, one stood out. IBF welterweight world champion Errol Spence is boxing’s fastest-rising star; with his next fight, slated for June 16 in his hometown of Dallas, he will look to establish himself as not just a boxer but as Texas’ boxing kingpin.

While most fighters hire promoters based in places like Las Vegas, Los Angeles or New York, the self-promoted Spence has plans to launch a Dallas-based promotion of his own, following in the footsteps of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya, two of the sport’s all-time greats, who have transitioned to superstardom as promoters too...

Of course, establishing a profitable company while promoting one’s own career is tough. Mayweather and De La Hoya each spent a decade learning from premier promotions before branching out on their own. Detractors of Spence’s self-promotional route remain, none more than De La Hoya. Last year, frustrated at Spence’s dismissal of a multimillion-dollar long-term deal with Golden Boy, De La Hoya told ES News Reporting that Spence’s lone-wolf mentality has led to an unnecessarily slow rise up the ranks. “I think it’s a shame that Errol Spence’s career has been kind of on the down-low,” said De La Hoya. “If I was promoting him, I would take that kid and turn him into a superstar.”

But Executive Vice President and General Manager of Showtime Sports Stephen Espinoza says that type of risk — and the ability to remain focused without the aid of a major promoter — is exactly what led to Mayweather’s success. Before launching Mayweather Promotions, Mayweather paid $750,000 to buy himself out of a contract with Top Rank. “Without the courage to make that move, without the foresight to make that move, none of the rest of this is possible,” says Espinoza.

Spence; Let Me Clean Up My Side of the Street First

Spence and the great amateur Loma (who got beat by the "great" Salido) seem to forget how great they are as soon as someone mentions names such as Crawford and Garcia
black fighters today are no where near the black fighters of 60's-90's. they are all cowards now. spence and Crawford will NEVER fight each other being they cant have a BIG advantage over each other like they have with all of their opponents and future ones. spence will get to big in a few years and have to move up and Crawford will claim he is not big enough. BOTH of them like to be a lot bigger then the guys they fight. horn is bigger then Crawford but easy for Crawford to beat

the debate was does fighter have the final say or the promoter. not sure why you brought up expired contracts, signing extension, getting robbed?? not sure why you're putting up quotes from other promoters.

the debate was YOU trashing pac in the past for being arum's puppet saying the fighter has the final say, but then here you're now switching up to fit your argument saying the promoter has the final say lol.

                • I can't wait for this fight. Crawford should take great care of Horn and those other dudes at TR. Hopefully he can get out his contract and fight Spence without Arum or TR.

I see this fight happening end of 2019 early 2020. Something great.

You're definitely thick-skulled! I trashed Manny because he could have LEFT TOP RANK a long time ago, at the minimum, after Bradley I. He did not! Therefore, I didn't want to hear HIS excuses about "I can only fight who my promoter tells me!" He had a way out, and he didn't take it! His own lawyer, Frankie Gacal tried to warn him! He didn't listen! So guess what? He made way less than Floyd, and still got schooled by Floyd anyway!

i dont care about any of that!!

point is, in the past you said the fighters have the final say in who they want to fight!

now you're switching it to fit your argument saying the promoter has the final say. let me know when you want to debate about this, but if you rather choose to go off topic by bringing up expired contracts, signing extension, etc. then have fun with that. lol
