You got that right. Interestingly, I don't think that the Charlos grew up in a crime-ridden "inner city. As near as I can tell it was a fairly nice neighborhood on the outskirts of Houston. I guess we will have to notify the residents of Prince Georges County, Maryland who are mostly Black and have one of the highest median family income, $85,000/yr levels and have high educational attainment that they are really poor inner-city residents.

The path forward is clear

Either fight Canelo in September (vacating the IBF belt), or walk away from the Canelo rematch, fight Derevyanchenko in August, fight Charlo in December, and then look at the Alvarez rematch in May (Bob Arum is slowwalking Murata just like he's doing with Zurdo Ramirez, Oscar Valdez, and Jose Ramirez).

Charlo has never been hit by someone with GGG's power. He has never faced that level of power. Be careful what you wish for, it might just come true.

He also has never fought someone with a piston jab like GGGs and that jab helps GGG keep his distance so he can land his power shots. GGG also has a granite chin that can't be cracked. Not even that ped cheat Connelo could crack his chin. Good luck Charlo.

I suspect this pretty much guarantees the Canelo/GGG fight. Canelo makes more fighting GGG (at whatever percentage GGG side gets, 35% through 50%) than fighting anyone else, and if GGG goes up against Charlo, who is Canelo going to fight ?

Saunders is a dangerous fight because of styles, Jacobs ditto. I can see Canelo looking good against Derevyanchenko or Murata, but the money in that fight would be way below what he could get from GGG (again, at whatever percentage). And he surely can't get away with fighting the likes of Spike without alienating yet more more people.

This squeezes the Canelo side too.

A Canelo Jacobs would be an attractive fight for both fighters. Jacobs has a good backstory. Both fought GGG tough and destroyed the idea that GGG is a monster who knocks everybody out. I think that fight will generate a lot of interest. At least we would not have to suffer GGG's Eastern European trolls posting BS every day on this site, or Abel Sanchez babbling nonsense, or see GGG's crying about getting a raw deal on the Canelo financial split.

This idiot pricing himself out the canelo fight and has nothing but high risk low paying mandatory fights all around him. Belts that he has been holding hostage and sharks circling him. The order of his mandatories is dervy or the IBF is stripped, then must fight charlo or the WBC is stripped. Then Jacobs is rematch will probably be the mandatory for the WBA. Turning down career payday with canelo will be forced to fight these guys back to back for about 1M because he thinks he's to good for the over 10M from canelo. Those are all fights he could lose and combined of he fought all 3 wouldnt pay him as much as 1 canelo fight in sept. No leverage better crawl on your knees and take that canelo deal fast LMAO

No one is demanding Canelo fight Charlo because theyre demanding he fights GGG which he’s trying. Most people say Canelo would never fight BjS or Jacobs and they’re apparently in the “running” but it’ll probably be good ol’ Spike. It’s still better than Vanes...

We all complained GGG never fought good competition and now that he can people are b itching? If he doesnt get Canelo and fights Charlo we as fans win. It’s Charlos step up (in an insanely huge way mind you) but some people are interested.

Canelo does whatever the f uck he wants and everyone will still watch. GGG is old and doesnt have that star power or benefit of time. Sad but true.
