The controversy continues as it relates to the potential rematch between IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs) and Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs). The two sides were in serious negotiations for a potential rematch on September 15th.

GGG is old with no other big money fight options.

Canelo in 24/7/365 VADA is going to clear his name going forward no matter who he fights.

GGG's management needs to get more realistic. Greedy fkers.

Whether people like him or not, GGG is the man to beat at Middleweight. As the defending champion, he should command a bigger slice of the cake and considering he was the better fighter when he fought Canelo last year (including the failed drug test), he is entitled to dictate terms. Canelo doesn't have any bargaining chips to bargain with. I think Golden Boy promotions are looking for a way out of the fight. Oscar has brought up Spike O’Sullivan as one of the possibilities for Canelo to fight on September 15, and he’s the one that a lot of hardcore boxing fans believe he’ll fight.

That's what I've been saying. The pressure is definitely on him. He needs to prove to boxing fans that he can defeat GGG without juicing. Besides, it has already done irreparable harm to his legacy.

If there's someone who needs to prove something that's bumlovkin, two somewhat decent opponents in canelo and jacobs and neither got KO'd or stopped. He's real tough when he's up against bums such as wade, monroe jr or the last bum Vanes ...the truth is bumlovkin's best win is against welterweight kell brook...I'd be ashamed to call myself a champ if I was him. And let's not forget the fact that he was too scared to move up, sitting in a dead division with c level fighters lol ..not a canelo fan but that dude fought at welterweight and went up to face this fraud, that's a step bumlovkin will never take.

They also said Canelo's image was tarnished after he vacated the belt.

He went on sell 1.3 mil PPV's w/o GGG after he dropped the belt. GGG went on to sell 160k PPV's after he told Canelo to give him his belt

There is a disconnect between boxing media/ggg fans & reality

That right there is a 100 times better fight than the sh** fight with Little G vs Vanes....canelo could be fighting a barber next it still makes it a more legit fight than little G's last fight

You don't have a clue what you're on about. It’s called prize fighting for a reason.
