Ward's superior boxing skills would have allowed him to beat Golovkin around the ring and win a very lopsided decision. Abel Sanchez would have shit his pants in the corner.

dlh bulked up to middleweight by forcefully inserting heavy objects into his anus

I love Golovkin but it shows he wasn’t that serious about the fight or trying to be great and be the best in a second division. To be fair Golovkin’s not even a big middleweight he’s just strong. His style’s not suited to fight bigger guys.

Ward didn’t make 168 easily why was he going to hurt himself going to 164?

dlh only went down from weak hopkins body shot because it caused an iron ***** to rupture his intestines

No, probably it was not a completely genuine offer but fighting Ward was all risk nearly zero reward(just ask Kovalev). As HBO said when the fight was proposed (and Ward said no) we will need time to build this fight.

Froch and Chavez were not only easier fights at 168, they were a much better balance of risk reward.

the problem is golovkins own trainer has said that 168 would actually be his best weight...thats where hed be at his best......sanchez even said pre kova/ward that golovkin could beat anyone at 175 too...which i know was a bad joke that shouldnt be taken seriously

but he did say a few times 168 would actually be golovkins best weight...so i dont buy this "hes not suited for it hes actually just a MW" stuff

He can say it but it's obviously not true. There are 154 pound fighters who are bigger than he is (see Hurd and Muguia). Fellow MW Jacobs was easily 10 pounds heavier when they fought.

Ward never said he would come down in weight. They guy had to drain down to 168. He moved up to 175 with ease. Asking a guy to remove an extra 4 pounds is that barely makes weight is like asking for the impossible. Its not like Ward offered to move down. They knew that. It was just postering. They never wanted to fight Ward because he would have exposed Grovelkin. So they came up with a lame offer they knew was unacceptable just to save face. Team Grolovkin had said anyone from 154-175 could get it and were talking real tough when they couldn't get fights. Yet in reality when those opportunities to move up to 168 to fight the best came up, Golovkin wasn't man enough to back up the tough talk his handlers were spewing. Just like he isn't man enough to fight Canelo. Golovkin takes the path of least resistance. He is a cherry picker that doesn't take risks. They thought Canelo would be too small since they dragged him up to 160 but still Grovelkin couldn't walk through and drop the Mexican. He's done taking those kinda fights and is just a has been now.

strange of a guy who spends so much time with golovkin would say something so obviously untrue right?
