If neither side budges, then no fight. I'm sure if Canelo's team agrees to one of the two numbers I mentioned, you would have no problem with that right? Cause you are not a financials fan, you are a fight fan and want to see the fight, right? If it doesnt happen because both sides are firm then it is what it is and both guys have great fights in the division they can make. Golovkin got 30%, and didn't win against the star fighter; there's no grounds for Golovkin to get 30% again, nevermind talk of getting 40% or more.

I personally don't care about the fight because, outside of Canelo getting tired, the fight went about as I expected, and I doubt Golovkin has the ability to change anything in the rematch (Golovkin still has no idea what to do with a moving target in front of him, and Canelo has never really been the fighter to just sit there and **** out with anyone).

If Golovkin doesn't want what Canelo is offering, he moves on (a particularly vindictive person, would sign to fight Saunders in the Fall to unify, fight Derevyanchenko to close out the year, and the fight Charlo in the early spring) and let Alvarez fight whomever in September and find a marketable fight for May 2019.

He was outlanded and outworked and at no point was he a dynamic offensive force as you make it sound. In fact, that was the most passive Canelo has ever fought.

C'mon guys, clearly this is a ploy in hopes of getting 60/40.

50/50 would be ridiculous, but the first fight did so well, and GGG has so many belts, that 60/40 isn't totally outrageous.

I’m willing to sit down and watch the fight on mute with anyone, which I’ve done alone several times. And I consistently get 7-5 Canelo or a draw. He landed the cleaner, harder shots consistently throughout the fight. Its not against the rules to fight off your back foot. Especially when your opponent isn’t doing anything but following you around the ring getting the hell knocked outta him. That’s a fact that seems to be lost on those that feel GGG clearly won the fight.

The overwhelming consensus was that Golovkin clearly won.

The fight outsold expectations and Golovkin proved himself as the right dancing partner for Canelo to have massive PPV success. Canelo is not a guy like Mayweather that could do a million buys against almost anyone. Canelo only does a few hundred thousand against a lesser opponent.

So yes, I can understand the argument for 60/40. GGG has the belts, GGG clearly won the first fight in the eyes of the public, now Canelo has failed a drug test. If GGG is ballsy enough to try to hold out for 60/40 instead of the 65/35 Canelo wants, good for GGG. It's risky. He may lose the fight over it. But that's his prerogative.

My point is simply that you always ask for more than you'd actually take. GGG obviously doesn't deserve 50/50 and wouldn't get 50/50 in a middle years. It's an aggressive stance, but I'd bet my life he'd take 60/40 in a heartbeat.
