So assuming low end - say £60 that’s close to $100 a month for tv including sky sports. In some respects this is why uk ppv is much less because the budget/expectation is higher within the sky sports subscription itself.
That's not a bad deal! I pay $97.00 a month for three TV Boxes (Dish Network) with no HBO. America is crazy man. That does not included internet or phone. Now i think because of my membership i can get HBO for $10 a month additional bringing it to $107. But once again that is not including Phone and internet. I rather just wait til a BIG PPV comes out but $69.99-79.99 for one boxing match is nuts at least to me. I rather go to a bar/pud but they usually don't show boxing but MMA.

How many would Fury/Joyce do? 4-5 million? More than Thurman/Garcia, lol

that's all we had at one point lol and most people still have that as their first 5 channels as standard.

I was gonna type this exact comment but checked to see if anyone else had first 😂😂

Since 1997 (the channel's debut) C5 highest rating is a 5.63 from 2000. It is a pretty impressive rating for them considering it was up against Eurovision and C5 usually barely goes above 2.5 or 2.6's from what I'm aware. I remember Tyson Fury doing good numbers when he fought on the channel a few years ago (2011-2012).

But CBS sports does get good ratings just not for boxing unless PBC puts on a good show with Keith Thurman or Broner.
Another difference is that the main sport in Europe is football (soccer), and you don't get games on Saturday nights, so no head-to-head problems. Basketball/Baseball/American Football/Ice Hockey don't exist in Europe (in TV/viewership terms), I think cricket, darts and horse racing gets more viewers than any of those (and again, those usually don't happen at the same time as Boxing, although a darts match might, but that's not a huge competitor).

So its Soccer or Boxing, and they don't happen at the same time. Only other thing that gets numbers is the Olympics.

Fantastic number when you consider Haye did 3 mill when he fought De Mori on the Dave channel. Hennessy better get a bigger venue for his next fight if anything he might of undersold Hughie's popularity after the loss to Parker.

Checking the Channel 5 ratings, the week before only 1 show did higher ratings than Hughie Fury's fight. So Channel 5 must be delighted at that.

I am aware of the horse racing and soccer time slots . I go to Jamaica and Bermuda alot. I must admit the darts through me off. That's some good insight. Boxing used to come on Saturday afternoons but like I said politics and junk messed up boxing in America. I thought Basketball was the number two sport in the world maybe it's Soccer (football), Cricket then basketball. Either way yes. I will not argue with anybody boxing has way more fans in England than USA now a days. Sht the WWE gets better views in some boxing events and that's fake. Go Man City!

I wouldn't doubt it. People like watching boxing over here, it's that simple.

Uk population is what - 65 mil?

So that suggests 1 in 20 we’re watching the fight? I just doubt that.

I just went to check the stats and understand that 2.9 million people tuned in during the fights, some of which will literally have flicked through the channels.

I checked further to see if details were released on either average or peak viewing which is more representative but neither have been announced that I can see.

It appears more a publicity stunt from a desperate promoter to me
