Nobody is America cares plus it's NBA playoff season and the world cup is right around the corner. Boxing hasnt been big here in a while. Like I said before it's due to PPV and not making big fights during its prime instead of promoters protecting fighters. Also HBO/Showtime made it hard for the sport to grow since you gotta pay for it. Football NFL is the top sport for now until they ruin that too.

Yep just general free to air entertainment channel (its not that popular so I's say NBC is much, much bigger in terms of market share for host country), not that much boxing on there as boxing is more of a recent development and this is BIG ratings for them at that time of night against the majors (BBC, ITV etc). It has very little original programming worth watching .. a lot of US imports from memory.

But CBS and NBC showcase lots of college football and NFL so that's a bad comparison. A non sports channel would be ABC or PBS lol. Or CW11 ( I think that's local). I really don't know. But CBS sports does get good ratings just not for boxing unless PBC puts on a good show with Keith Thurman or Broner.

So Channel 5 typically does not show any sports?

It's probably closest to The CW in the States... Unpopular channel that gets less viewers than the others. They're both around the same age too.

When was the last time their American WBC hw champion was on PPV? .. we have more ppv than the states by a country mile right now so that's not the reason.

Our sky and ****** and BT bills also cost more than their hbo and showtime subscriptions ... We just watch more boxing than they do on a population and scale basis.

Yup. And CW will never get those numbers for a boxing match unless it's heavy promoted or Floyd fights in it (which will never happen).

Great numbers. Excellent exposure for Hughie as well. I had a few casuals at work asking me about him.

Wait you guys are paying $50 a month just for Sky? In America you gotta pay $50 a month for HBO then pay the additional $79 fee for the PPV. I agree with you on you guys watch more boxing than us. There's no shame in saying boxing is basically dead here. I am telling you Deontay is not a big name here. the only boxers that are known coast to coast (America is a big Country). Are Ali, Leonard, Tyson, George Forman then Maybe Floyd Cuz of his antics. Those names are known from kids (15) to the old people. NFL Football ( not for long) and NBA are bigger sports. I think golf mite be bigger than boxing here. It is what it is. On the bright side Soccer (football) is growing.
