Compare it to Haye/De Mori 3 mil and Haye/Gjergjaj doing 2.5mil on Dave and its real impressive. Eubank Jr/Blackwell 1.5 mil. Think these were the highest terrestrial numbers recently
Alright cool, thanks for the responses guys. Those numbers would seem to be very impressive then
Got to say, terrestrial TV used to be just 4 channels here, then CH5 came along in 1997. It's the first 5 channels you see in any freeview built into the TV, literally everyone has access to it that has a modern TV and sees CH5 when they press their TV guide.
BBC1
BBC2
ITV
CH4
CH5
that's all we had at one point lol and most people still have that as their first 5 channels as standard.

The olden days numbers were staggering for boxing, half the population coming out for Ali and Barry McGuigan, the Eubank/Benn/Watson stuff, be the equivalent to 150mil watching a fight in the US. You consider 111mil watched the last Superbowl.

Around 500k people probably thought they were tuning in to watch Tyson Fury.

Too much damn choice nowadays, I wish they would go back to 5 channels so we could get proper fights with 20million viewers! lol
I will say it anytime anywhere, boxing has left the United States for the United Kingdom and citizens of Uncle Sam should accept it.
Raw numbers don't lie. There are still really good numbers for boxing here in the States, but what is happening across the pond is nothing short of amazing for the sport.
