Jermell Charlo savagely rejects Eddie Hearn

He's been with Haymon some time and feels a loyalty there. Loyalty>money makes sense to a lot of people, especially if it might be short-term money. Plus if Hurd is staying put it's good for Charlo and boxing for him to stay too, that's THE fight at 154. The only thing I'd question is the Lions Only Promotions stuff. For a lot of boxers that would be a distraction and fizzle out after a year or two.
A lot of people (not in this thread as much) see things right now as Hearn vs PBC. Might turn out that way but Jacobs is with both and I'm guessing others will be. Showtime put on a lot of shows and seem commited to boxing so a lot PBC guys are going to stay there, HBO have so far passed on a good Andrade fight (despite having him on contract) put up low money for the Golovkin fight considering they knew it would do very good ratings, they've had Usyk the best CW under contract and simply let him walk away. ESPN/Arum seem committed but the most vulnerable guys will be the ones who have a short time left on their current deal and as fans we mostly don't know who that is. Pacquiao's situation is up in the air so he might go face Khan or Brook. I've heard BJS and AJ are out of contract this year but no idea the status of anyone else. Re-signing AJ is probably Hearn's priority whatever he says publicly. There's talk that Haymon only has a handshake deal with a lot of guys but never heard that officially confirmed.
I don't see any promoters or networks 'dying' but if Kovalev and a couple of others go to Hearn then all HBO will be offering is Canelo and Golovkin PPVs.Last edited by Clegg; 05-11-2018, 08:04 PM.

I like the Charlo's but they're all too happy being overpaid fighting scrubs and barking from a distance knowing there is a fence there to protect them.Originally posted by DramaShow View Postproblem is if he signed with hearn hed have to fight jacobs, which he doesnt want
Because Eddie puts on the most competitive cards in the biz...

Hurd Charlo is 100 times better than that garbage from the other side. And Hurd has the belt why wouldn’t Charlo go after him?

Lara and Decubas have been courting green Hurd and Hurd said he's not ready yet, so they went for their willing victim Gausha.
Turned out that it was not about Hurd, it was Lara who still can't admit he's past his prime and wants to get mauled again.

This is why Hearns deal sucks.
We now have 4 networks with zero crossover.
HBO
Showtime
ESPN
DAZN
Waters down the talent pool more. Hearn is screwed as is Dazn.

Say he does get Spence, who the hell else in Mismatchroom, am I supposed to pay $20 to watch him fight??? I already have to pay $10 or $12 for my Showtime subscription, whatever it is, to see Spence-Ocampo. Now way in hell am I itching to cough up $20 for the same *****.
As far as Jacobs and Charlo, if they want to fight, it can ALREADY happen....on either HBO or SHOWTIME, which the boxing fan ALREADY subscribes to.
But let's pay more, for what we can already get, because Eddie Hearn said so.
