I'll wait to see what fighters he is able to pick up and put on this platform. If all he can muster is Danny Jacobs and a few John Molina's and can't draw any of Haymon's guys away then I don't know if i'll be interested. For 20 bucks a month there better be some fighters on there I want to see

You put it in a nutshell. Who does he have to occupy these many bouts annually? Joshua is his bread and butter, but who else will be allowed to pick up on this AJ led platform with contracts already signed to different parties? Can Hearn persuade the established powers that be to accommodate his billion dollar AJ led platform?......sounds like Friday Night Fights: part 2 (for 20 bucks monthly) to me........AJ definitely aint fighting Wilder no time soon......theyre gonna need him to keep this venture thing afloat.

That doesn't make sense, though? Errol Spence Jr is already featured on Showtime, has finally gotten in with some decent TX sponsors tbh, and he's heading home to headline his first show at the 12k Cowboys facility near Dallas, with his own promotional company sharing the marquee (Man Down).

Being IBF champion, and arguably the best fighter at 147lbs, being tied with the deepest talent pool at the weight, why would Errol Spence Jr give all of that up to sign with Matchroom Sport USA and a streaming service that no one here had even heard of before Wednesday?

Do you think Spence is as big as he could be if he had a full time promoter? I don't. I think he's hardly as popular as he was a year ago or two years ago as he is now. That needs to change.

Who gives a damn about some fighter promotion thats some ego driven bs more than a money making thing 90% of the time. Spence needs a promoter. Hearn. Zuffa. Arum. Oscar. DiBella. F#cking someone needs to have this dudes back & to be saying his name 24/7/365. Showtime doesn't promote fights.

Deontay Wilder is already on $2m+ to fight, and the casual audience seems to be finally catching on to the American heavyweight champion. It makes no sense for him to move either.

Even the Charlo brothers, though further away tbh, have a setup where they stand that can deliver for them in short order (depending on how the timing sets up, Jermall Charlo will get his shot at a 160lb world title within a year's time and Jermell Charlo is basically at most 3 fights away from a shot at being the 154lb kingpin).

Dude the Charlo's should be headlining cards. Instead they got Tank Davis sh^ttalking them while Broner's who gives a f#ck about boxing gets the headlining spot. If the Charlo's had a legit promoter that promoter would be making these guys the faces of violence in boxing. Dudes are knocking mfers out their shoes n sh^t. And getting 2nd or 3rd billing all day lmfao. Wtf. These cats are 154/160lb Mike Tyson's.

Adrien Broner would make sense as a viable option for the move, but then Matchroom would have to find folks for him to fight on their streaming service not tied to any other platform (Showtime/CBS, ESPN+/ESPN, FOX/FS1, HBO aren't likely to give up their own potential content to build a competitor).

I think Broner makes the least sense, but he sells tickets so fair play.

In the battle of Showtime/CBS vs DAZN streaming service, for boxing content, Haymon isn't set up to be the type of guy to undercut Stephen Espinoza in that way, especially when the move isn't at the obvious benefit to the fighter that Haymon is working for.

I think you still got too much faith in Haymon having some plan. I think its more likely that 12 months from now Haymon still doesn't have a TV deal & he's just doing these Showtime cards as is with lil aim or focus usually & with lil drive towards big fights. I dig Haymon's love for boxers & I was a big supporter of his early on & til the last idk 9-12mos maybe, but if Haymon was gonna create some answers to the questions out there I suspect he would have done so already. I think PBC is most likely a dying entity or an entity that'll just be some odd-ish management group more than anything else we are used to seeing in the boxing world & like most people thought PBC was gonna become.

At the end of the day you're going to be paying $20 for two-to-three matchroom cards a month. Even if Eddie puts on great cards, you're still going to have to buy (or stream) Showtime, HBO, and ESPN to see the the vast majority of bigger fights.

At this point in time, yes. The doors have to be opened one way or another, things have to start somewhere.

I think it's going to divide the fans at home. Dibella has his own now that does shows, ESPN+, Matchroom, everybody and their mothers are doing sub based streaming/app content. Boxing fans won't be able to afford them all.
