I've worked in the Media since 2002 and i can guarantee you that this is going to be a complete and utter Flop of massive proportions.

It also won't last longer then 24 months at the most and is not worth even close to the 1 Billion thats been reported but the ****** ignorant idiots on this site lap it up like the idiots who lap up the same BS from that other liar Trump.

DAZN isn't going to get enough people to subscribe with the likes of Spence, Charlo brothers, Wilder, Broner and Thurman...No one cares about them.

Dazn is going to produce complete rubbish tv programs that no one is going to care about and the whole thing is going to be a big bust.

Looking at the company's Wiki, it appears they televise (live and on demand) NBA, NFL, MLB, WTA, ect to Japan and Austria+Germany in additional to many Euro soccer leagues and Japanese pro baseball.

Nearly all of their content already has a broadcaster in the US, so I'm wondering how they plan to muscle in on ESPN? If they actually provide an avenue to conveniently watch Japanese pro sports (especially baseball) in the US that would definitely get them some attention, but Japanese Baseball and Boxing isn't exactly going to blow the doors down.

I really don't see how they're going to gain the marketshare.

i would never pay $10/ month to watch substandard fights.

can someone explain to me why the streaming business is gonna be the next big thing?

Easy access... And many people enjoy watching things on a phone/tablet or laptop. You can send certain apps to your TV (smart) anyway if that's the size you want. I like to stream now because I can watch anywhere

We'll see how it plays out. Boxing's biggest issue in America is there's a costly barrier to entry for the average guy who might want to get into the sport, in that you need cable+two premium channels to see the fights.

I really don't see how having yet another pay-service, in addition to the aforementioned packages, is going to do anything but add further confusion to the market and result in a bunch of fights going unwatched.

The Idea is sports can and should be delivered the same way Netflix and Now have grown. Contracts have a lifespan and the world keeps moving, also the likes of existing on demand TV providers are to be considered in their infancy.
I assume it'll take a while but I for one can't wait to pay for boxing and see all of it the way I want to watch it.

Lets put it this way.. if you live in the USA, and youre a boxing nut.. you're paying $240 a year for DAZN, with the option to cancel any time you want or pause...

if you paid for the full year, youre effectively paying the price of 4 PPV's on current tv networks but DAZN will be showing alot more than 4 PPV worthy fights per year.

Say theres only 4 PPV's in a year or that want to see... you can subscribe to DAZN for those months in which they fall and pay $80 altogether to watch all of those... or you can stay locked in your minimum term cable network contract and pay exorbitant ppv prices on top of those for the fights you wana see.

This sounds great, i’ve been wanting someone to develop a sports streaming service. Spotify and Netflix are great, a similar thing for sports means I can watch the fights I want at low cost without being stuck with a cable or sat servise playing crud like Ellen and Kardashians the rest of the time. I hope this lives up to expectations.

Other than mayweather(there won't be another) the biggest purses, the highest earners, the biggest crowds have been heavyweight boxing that can be sold to the US market.

At the end of the day you're going to be paying $20 for two-to-three matchroom cards a month. Even if Eddie puts on great cards, you're still going to have to buy (or stream) Showtime, HBO, and ESPN to see the the vast majority of bigger fights.
