if golovkin logged onto this site and saw all his haters he would roll around the floor laughing, he beat canelo and jacobs and fought some decent/half decent guys like a lot of fighters and now hes mid 30's, he may only have a few fights left so he wants paydays, canelo and whoever, id like to see him fight all the other guys too but cant see it happening, i like to see him v charlo actually, would be good

Whether No.1 or not, either now or at some point over the last couple of years, its pointless arguing in Golovkin's favour in anything. A certain number of people are 'never-Golovkins' a bit like the ever-Trumps and never-Trumps - mind's made up.
Its why Golovkin threads always go into the hundreds as it triggers the never-Gs.
Fact is he's been fun to watch over the last few years, and boxing has been better with him than without him. Uh oh, never Gs triggered again........Comment

Me neither lol there is no need. The title alone lets you know some fanboy wrote it because GGG actually has TONS to prove and he is quite aged. The high level boxers he has fought Jacobs and Canelo game him all he could handle The Jacobs fight I feel he lost and the Canelo fight was a draw. He has A LOT of unfinished business...Comment

GGG is the class act of boxing
GGG hasn't just beaten everyone. He has knocked the vast majority of them out which is more than can be said for many of athletes in the sport.
Gennady is also a gentleman and does not engage in the fake outrage that so often puts boxing in the low brow company of pro wrestling and MMA. His limited but endearing grasp of the english language has given us the "Big Drama Show" and his "Mexican Style" shows respect for the heritage of the middleweight devision and for the type of boxing that the public craves.
GGG is getting old and it will be much harder for him to beat opponents like Canelo and Charlo. I would like to see him fight Billy Joe Saunders for the last belt he doesn't have and call it a career. At that point he could have the title defense record and retire undefeated which is already more than can be said for Canelo.
Charlo will be the new king of the middleweights and a fight between him and Canelo will be the big box office battle of the future.
Go out in style GGG. The neanderthals who espouse so much hate on this forum only want blood, guts and bravado.Comment

unifying v bjs would add another v good defence and take him into double figure defences, which is surely worth sticking round for.
persaonlly I think he ought to stay for 2 fights and thus match Sturm but 6th most defences and owning most titles is pretty good, a solid argument for being a top 15 ATG MW.

I think he's locked to get into the IBHOF let's face it. The guy's in no matter how much people want to deny it. I don't think it's right to view him as a great fighter in a historical sense yet. Canelo and Jacobs are good wins but he needs a bit more because the drop off after those two is big and those two while good fighters are not special fighters either.
Perhaps an emphatic win like a KO in a Canelo re-match would solidify him as a generational great. To be considered an historically great fighter if he can get out of the division without losing and defeats Saunders to complete the set and maybe knock off a guy like Devreychenko, Andrade or Charlo then I'd say he's a truly great fighter and arguably a top 10 middleweight in history.
160 is historically great. I'm not even sure if Hopkins would rank in it's top 10. Monzon and Hagler IMO are both clearly top 5 but Hopkins' reign without Tito was a lot of crap.Comment
