A point on Canelo hair testing: what's your opinion?

This has been discussed to death already but I feel that the hair test only bolsters the meat claim because the amounts were never large enough to leave any evidence. That means, it was unlikely that he used performance enhancing levels of the substance.

Second point , as a boxing fan, I'm reaching schizophrenia with that story.

I feel like there is something fishy and cheating in boxing is just so bad.

But at the same time, Canelo is just one of the most fun fighter to watch and the best record, bigger star in boxing, so you don't really want him getting ruined.
At least it doesn't help the sport, that's just a bad look for boxing.

Evidently you know almost nothing about drug metabolism and cellular half-lives.

Drugs exist for significantly longer durations in hair (~6-8 months) which is why it is a well regarded practice...it's also more expensive than a simple urine test...which is why urine remains the gold standard (no pun intended).

No significant level of Clen in hair sample suggest the circumstantial evidence is actually true - which is not hard to believe. However, it is hard to accept for cuckg fangirls because it means cuckg is going to take ANOTHER L :/

Folks still trying to attack the science because they first demanded Canelo do what other athletes refuse to do which is volunteer to take a hair test which he did and it came back negative for PED use.

The hair test results for clenbuterol in the Canelo case are MORE revealing than the urine results in regards 2 possible intent to cheat. Hair results represent a longer period of time than urine results. If they had found more than 20 pg/mg of clenbuterol in his hair. BINGO!

Attacking the scientific credibility of hair testing for clenbuterol because of color variations is simply an uninformed argument. Many drug tests have all kinds of variations. Urine samples can be diluted or concentrated. Asians have much lower T/E ratios compared to blacks etc.

Yes, I can. Because it alterations such as bleaching, dyes, chemical strippers, all leave traces (aka, "artifacts"). Testing after a day or a month makes little difference in this regard. I worked in a rehab facility for 5 years and know a bit about testing. I

Perhaps Clen Boy got a number one cut before the test. I remember a famous australian rules footballer who also happened to be a junkie, he was suspended but needed to get the hair follicle test to resume his career. He turned up to the lab nearly bald , the lab conducted the test and he was cleared. The speculation was that you could best the hair test by having the short cut.

Couple points every expert I have seen including Victor Conte and even WADA states a hair test is more accurate to determine intent to cheat instead of meat contamination. Also the reason urine test is used today and not hair test has little to do with it not being accurate enough and more to do with urine test being cheaper. And idiots who keep saying well the bad hair is gone after 3 weeks no it isn't. 1) It's in the hair follicles your body produces for 6 months. Meaning it's in hair that HASN'T even popped out of your body yet at the time you were on PEDs. 2) If you used chemicals to try and scrub it those chemicals would leave traces and WADA would know about it. 3) Your hair contains your DNA so you can't just swap it with someone else 4) Canelo has long hair here it is the fight press conference

VADA were the consultants and controllers for the testing. They are the ones that initiate for who and where the hair follicles go to, and chose the WADA lab affiliated. They then provide the information to the commission. How is the last option that the commission can’t be trusted if they are being provided the information? Lol

Canelo is not some pot smoking teen going in to get a follicle test for a job. He's part of a multi-million dollar organization that has more millions riding on passing that test.
Do I know all the science behind the testing of hair? No.
Do I suspect there is a lot more to it than we have been able to google up in the last couple months? Yes, I'm pretty sure.
Do I think that there are methods of leaching chemicals from hair? Yes, once again pretty sure there are.
Do I think that Canelo's camp had already run a follicle test on Canelo's hair and knew the results before even thinking about doing an official test? Yes

Anybody other than those with direct knowledge, claiming to know 100% one way or another about Canelo's PED use are delusional.
