Comments Thread For: Jacobs to Jermall Charlo: Come See Me; I'm the King of Brooklyn!

That thought had crossed my mind but I cannot help but thinking we would get a different version of Jacobs should he fight Charlo. He was not anywhere near as slick last night as we have seen him before, from the very first round. He just didn't seem as focused. His opponent was terrific and much better than anticipated, but was still a largely unknown entity. I think Jacobs really brings it for the Charlo fight and comes out on top. Peace.Originally posted by AdonisCreed View PostAfter that performance I give the edge to Charlo. I don't think he can handle Charlo's power.

When has Danny ever been slick? Point me to that fight.Originally posted by Gillie View PostThat thought had crossed my mind but I cannot help but thinking we would get a different version of Jacobs should he fight Charlo. Well, when I say slick, I mean he certainly has terrific boxing ability, can fight from the outside and has a pretty deadly jab. Maybe slick is the wrong word but he is definitely a complete fighter and not a brawler by any stretch. Do you disagree?Originally posted by Butch.McRae View PostWhen has Danny ever been slick? No I don't. My issue with Danny is two fold. (1) Sloppiness due to either exhaustion or a lack of focus and (2) lazy feet for long periods of time. I think both of these issues lead to two critical errors he makes in almost every fight. First, he likes to throw these very sloppy combos (slaps his right hook a lot) that leave him wide open for counters. Second, he's off balance a lot which leads to those knockdowns.Originally posted by Gillie View PostWell, when I say slick, I mean he certainly has terrific boxing ability, can fight from the outside and has a pretty deadly jab. I think he has all the tools but there's something mental going on there. He does the same thing in every fight. It's like he falls asleep in the middle of rounds.
That's why I favor the kid over him. Those Charlo are always pressing even when being outboxed and they're always throwing hard, sharp punches with balance. Jermall particularly throws some hard shots. I just see Danny losing the way Williams did. He'll look athletic and throw some stuff that looks good, but Charlo will slowly creep closer and then end him during one of his "naps"

I would give Jacobs a 60/40 chance of winning. Even higher odds if they fight sooner? Murata is still pretty green but in a few years I could see it being a 50/50 fight?? Be a good scrap!Originally posted by Bronx2245 View PostGGG and Jacobs had plenty of time to fight Gimpy! He was #1 for at least 2 years. Why? I have no idea, but he was. What do you think about Ryota Murata? I think he's strong, but Jacobs should be able to beat him!
I'm soo glad the MW is STACKED... The days of Blanco, Heiland, Wade, Tureno #1's are over.

Maybe because he was fighting a guy who was a solid 6'1 ?Originally posted by JLC View PostI don’t think he’d be giving up anything. I pick Charlo to win. I was very surprised by how small Danny looked last night. I really viewed him as a larger middleweight than that.
Good fight but Charlo is really in his prime and very strong. This would be a good money fight so a no brained for Charlo to put his belt up for This fight.
