Alvarez doesn't hold a title so there's no unification to allow a request not to make the mandatory next, let's see what golovkin does. . .
Mandatories have to get their shot within a reasonable time. That's fair.

To make the system perfect it's not enough to adopt the IBF's transparency and a rulebook that is set in stone, though.

We would have to make there be only one sanctioning body so that all fighters are under the same roof. Then maybe Canelo would be the mandatory instead of Derevyanchenko.

This Whyte hype started when he beat Chisora by SPLIT decision.

I just think that Whyte knows he is not very good and that he can likely lose against Ortiz.

A lot of people thought Chisora won that fight as well.

So they are basically hoping he would go through another route. That’s a very nice way of ducking Whyte IMHO.
I don't think it's nice at all. It's a blatant duck and pretty shitty. The guy works his ass off to get to the number one slot, then suddenly has to fight the previous number one guy to get the number one slot! WTF??

            You point is..

Ortiz flatlines Shyte. That's why he scared.
AJ was dropped by a former champion who was undefeated in 11 years. The guy fought his ass off against AJ, who had only 18 pro fights.

Whyte is the #1 contender. He shouldn't have to fight in a final eliminator against the guy who just lost in his title shot. It's not so much about Whyte not wanting to fight Ortiz, as it is Wilder not wanting to fight Whyte. Search your feelings, you know it to be true!

Whyte has no need to fight Ortiz. Just stay in line for Joshua rematch and fight bums.
