Call the ****ing bluff then. Seems straightforward.

they're willing to meet to go over the contract once hearn confirms AJ would accept 50 million if the contract's details are acceptable.Comment

I think they want AJ to accept cause they want to knock Hearn out of this thing. If i'm paying your guy 50 million then we are running the show. We choose venue, tour dates and cities, we are the promoter, the whole thing. They just want Hearn there so he can present AJ and that's it. I could be wrong thoughComment

Thank you. This undying loyalty to AJ by his fanboys who act like they are getting paid the same money AJ is & slam Wilder for "only making $2 million".This is exactly what's going on. Hearn is trying to spin it another way and all the AJ dlck riders are saying they want him to sign a contract without looking at it. How tf is that even possible? I thought the pacquiao fans were dumb, but GOD, these AJ fans are something else.
The offer was very clear:
AJ gets $50 million or 50%
WHICHEVER IS MOST.
AJ can actually make $75 million.
And he's going to need after Wilder is done with him.Comment

If ever proof was needed that, with the best will in the world, many boxing fans understand absolutely nothing about business in the real world this farce delivers.
You can't 'accept' a deal without knowing all the terms?
You don't make deals by refusing to sit down and talk.
What a joke.Comment

This is some unprofessional **** from Shelly and team Wilder. Eddie callin' the bluff if they dont meet himComment

What’s wrong with meeting with Hearn first this could all be a scam we all know wilder ain’t that popular and can barely fill up seats they were giving away free tickets for the wilder vs Ortiz fight at Barclays but yet some how wilder or his team got all this money yeah right misse me with that bull**** smhComment

You’re right of course, Hearn doesn’t want to give up control of the promotion of his top earning fighter.Ah I see, sounds like you think it was just a negotiation tactic to push up Hearn's offer and wasn't serious. Well, that makes a lot of sense and explains why the offer was from Wilder directly and not his people, cos he can kinda play dumb on the contract stuff and get back to negotiating a better price and it would probably work % out like you say in this case.
Hearn could seriously hang him out to dry though at this point, cos if they talk and agree what the $50m buys, then Wilder going to be left with a massive $100m+ burden dangling around his neck.
My read on the stalling is the long game. The fight is going to happen, fans should relax on that. But, I think Hearn feels the need to stay in control of the AJ brand and AJ roadshow and $50m is a nice headache to have, but probably still not enough that he wants to hand over his prized possession.
That's what A Side is all about, calling the shots, running the show. They don't want to fight in the US, they don't want to walk to the ring from this side or that, or attend this conference or that, they want control. That's the hesitance.
Wilder has called AJ’s bluff by making him the $50m offer he asked for ...
But I don’t understand why Haymon made the offer just over 24hrs before a planned meeting to discuss Hearn’s original $12.5m offer and with a 24hr deadline. Haymon must have known AJ wouldn’t accept their offer without a sit down meeting with Hearn-Haymon to discuss details (despite the bluster of his “I’ll sign the same day” remarks), just like Hearn knew Wilder wouldn’t accept the $12.5m offer without a sit down meeting. There is always negotiation before deals are agreed (never mind contracts signed).
Im sure Haymon can somehow raise $50m guarantee for the biggest HW fight in a decade, to me that’s not the problem.
The problem is the 24hr deadline ensuring the planned meeting wouldn’t go ahead. That’s just playing games, just like Hearn often does (hell when haven’t they been a feature of boxing negotiations). But why cannot grown men who are supposed to be professionals just agree a planned meeting a negotiate in good faith to give the world the fight it wants.
Pathetic on both sides.Last edited by AussieStu; 04-27-2018, 06:09 AM.Comment
