What was the point of HBO signing him if they won't pay money for the Derevyanchenko and they won't make Danny Jacobs fight him? Why aren't he and Jacobs fighting an eliminator for the WBA and why is Jacobs fighting an eliminator for the WBA instead? If HBO is betting on a GGG/Canelo rematch why isn't one of their fighters getting in position to fight BJS instead? Then you'd have all 4 belts on your network.

That's what I'm saying. If they wanted to strip him, they would have already. Why wait this long? There is no reason to wait.

They've never ever ever enforced a mandatory with only 3 weeks left in a fight. So doing so now (which they still haven't) would be extremely weird.

Besides, they already are on board for the Canelo rematch, saying they will sanction that fight (as they already did before it canceled) - so it looks like Sergiy will have to wait no matter what anyway. IBF knew that too. Sergiy knew that. DiBella knew that. IBF is just trying to save face by keeping that "we almost stripped GGG" narrative. They have to maintain that reputation.
