160 has 8 FREAKING FIGHTERS that are all pretty damn good. GGG, Canelo, Saunders, Jacobs, Charlo, Derev, Andrade, and Murata. Now that's one hell of a division, I think some of these guys need to face each other like Andrade-Derev to thin the herd so to speak.

I want to believe in these guys. I want to believe that Charlo shows up at Jacobs fight next week, calls him out and a fight gets signed a short time later. That fight would be more interesting to me at this point than the Golovkin/Canelo rematch.

Canelo is still the Lineal MW Champion of the World, like it or don't.

            personally, I don't

160 is hot, for sure. I think only welter is comparable. I agree with seeing seeing some of these top contenders face each other to see who gets their crack at all the belts. Meanwhile, the rematch plays out in September and bjs gets his shot hopefully sometime early next year.

I forgot Jermall Charlo, sitting on their spot instead of going to war with the other top contenders.

A whole lot of calculated moves if you ask me.
The only one not a mandatory is Andrade. Like I said, they'll be forced to fight each other if one gets the belt off of GGG. Jacobs and Sergiy have the same trainer so they aint fighting each other without a mandatory. Jacobs isn't going to give up his mandatory spot and Charlo isn't going to give up his to face each other. On the other hand if one were to beat GGG, which is very possible, they'd become the mandatory for the other

I don't see anyone calling for Saunders to face Jacobs or Charlo or Andrade or Sergiy. Why is that? They want Saunders open so that GGG can have an out of his mandatory with a unification. A unification he turned down last summer.

But I agree. Currently, 160 is filled with talent. It's similar to 54 where the top 5 are really, really good. Except this 160 has a top 7.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. And as long as Canelo is there, there will be NO tournament.
Of course he isn't going to fight them. If he doesn't want to fight his mandatory fights and only wants to fight Canelo he needs to drop the belts so the other fighters can fight for them. He and Canelo are the ones holding up progress

Canelo has been holding the division hostage for the longest time. He would never fight GGG, Charlo, Jacobs or Saunders on neutral terms. Everything has to be stacked in his favour. Even now he's a proven drug cheat he will be back in the mix in September. Fighting Canelo in Vegas is like fighting Povetkin in Russia.
