160 is not a mess. Its set up perfectly

One guy has 3 belts. He currently has 3 mandatory obligations (assuming Jacobs wins next week) All 3 of his mandatory fights are good fights. He beats one then moves onto the next. If he were to lose the winner has to fight one of the other to mandatory fighters. Right now 160 is in position to have a mini round robin or tournament.

Or would you rather have it like 130 where 4 diff guys hold 4 diff belts and aren't fighting each other? 175 is having that same problem. In the 160 division we're guaranteed at least 3 of the top guys will be mandated to fight each.

It sounds good to me. Middleweight is a strong weight class in my opinion. GGG is a good champion with some very good challengers.

160 today, compared with 2-3 years ago, night and day difference. There are plenty of good fights to be had. I like the tournament idea/route. It seems to have a lot of sharks, and lions lol, waiting with baited breath hanging around. G needs to just forget bout Clenelo and work these upper echelon Mandos in my opinion. Good observation

Middleweight went from garbage to top 3 since Canelo, Charlo and Andrade moved in.

It takes the sanctioning bodies to force these clowns to fight each other, how disgraceful.

We seen Elieder Alvarez at 175 risking his mandatory position facing Pascal and Lucian Bute as he waited for his shot at Adonis 'Superman' Stevenson -- now I see Danny Jacobs, Boo-Boo and that other euro Derhajhnclkja ( whatever his name is ), OH! I forgot Jermall Charlo, sitting on their spot instead of going to war with the other top contenders.

A whole lot of calculated moves if you ask me.

People are nuts if they think GGG is gonna fight Canelo, Saunders, Sergiy, Charlo, and Jacobs all consecutively. That's 2 and a half years just in those fights alone. I don't think GGG will stay that long. Not at 60 atleast.

But I agree. Currently, 160 is filled with talent. It's similar to 54 where the top 5 are really, really good. Except this 160 has a top 7.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. And as long as Canelo is there, there will be NO tournament.

160 is finally alive again. There's the usual hiccups that boxing goes through but we're got several very talented guys, most of them prime, I couldn't ask for much more.

Yup, it sets up perfectly for all those guys to sit on their mandatory spot that they beat nobody to get rather than fight anyone worth a damn. GGG will be busy in September and then against Saunders most likely. What are the odds any of these dudes have a tough fight in the meantime? I'd say slightly above zero.

Say the champ wants to fight 2X a year, with your reasoning, if Golovkin fights Alvarez in Sept. the earliest mando would be next March if Golovkin defends sucessfully, one fighter would be waiting til early 2020 for his shot at a belt.
It aint gonna happen but I'd rather see these guys fighting each other.
Fighters hoping for that mega payday is killing boxing.
