wba just changed the Davis vs Cuellar fight to a title fight for the WBA "Super" version belt at 130. Meaning they just downgraded Machado who just beat their Super champ Corrales. So now tank who just got stripped for missing weight will leap frog machado as main champ by beating Cuellar who is comming off a loss and hasn't fought in 16 months and is moving up from featherweight. it's bad enough this is a vacant title fight but to screw machado in the process is disgusting. How much was WBA paid off for this move and how is Cuellar given ranking when he's a inactive fighter who was been fighting at 126 since 2012.

Machado did not turn down his mandatory they haven't even ordered a purse bid yet. Both sides are still negotiating if they can't come to agreement then WBA will order a purse bid date to force the fight. But how you win the belt by knocking out the champ then they make mensah the mandatory only for 2 months later you sanction a fight for 2 dudes one isn't even a super featherweight for your belt? Downgrading you to regular status? Straight corruption here.

Now the odd thing is Boxrec has Machado vs Corrales for the vacant WBA "Regular" Championship. But in Corrales previous fight he was the WBA "Super" Champion.

So the only thing I can see is that the WBA downgraded the title to Regular after Corrales missed weight.

Corrales was the 1 and only champ he missed weight they said Corrales was stripped but machado was still eligible to win the title. He knocks out the champ becomes new champ. Why split the titles now creating a regular and super title when the WBA said they are trying to consolidate and have only 1 champ per weight? And if you do split the belts why downgrade the man who beat the man and sanction a fight with a inactive cuellar who is coming off a loss and moving up from featherweight? There is no explanation but corruption. If you wanted you could of just mandated machado to fight either guy but it's obvious they want to gift tank another title. And cuellar going from unranked to number 1 ranked after the Davis fight was made is shady as phuk.
