Not true when they first announced it was for a secondary version it was later changed to the super version leap frigging machado.

Gervonta Davis is remaining at 130 pounds, and now, he has an opponent.

“Tank” will face former featherweight titleholder Jesus Cuellar on April 21 in Brooklyn, New York, in the Showtime co-feature to Adrien Broner-Jessie Vargas, it was announced.

The 23-year-old held a junior lightweight title last year, but he failed to make weight for his scheduled defense against Francisco Fonseca on the Mayweather-McGregor undercard, and Davis was stripped. Now, he has a chance to put a title back around his waist: his fight vs. Cuellar is for the WBA’s vacant secondary title (Albert Machado is the recognized titleholder).

didn't know this. when rumours started about this fight from the argentinean sources it was always stated that the fight was for the super belt and this was before the fight was officially announced.

regardless of any of this, the WBA sucks and what they are doing is ****** and wrong

          Weird.

Is Machado injured? Its been six months since he won the title and I haven't heard about him having anything lined up.

There reports of him fighting his mandatory on the undercard of Canelo/GGG PPV. But since that fight died not sure when he will face his mandatory. Last I heard was it will probably go to purse bid because Don King and his fighter were asking for more money.

WBA mandated Machado to fight Mensah i think in jan not either of these 2 guys. And cuellar wasn't even ranked at 130 by the WBA until mysteriously after the tank fight was made. Now out the blue Cuellar is their number 1 ranked fighter despite being inactive 16 months coming off a loss and was fighting at 126 not 130. Mensah who used to be number 1 ranked about a month ago is now number 2 ranked behind cuellar.
