HAHAHA its Canelo's fault Golovkin ducked his mandatory? I for one am not suprised at Grovelkin is doing this again. Brook, Rosado and now Vanes. Gennad has made a habit of fighting smaller men while avoiding people his size. He even chased a smaller star in Canelo while avoiding Ward. I'm pretty sure HBO would have prefered Derevyanchenko and the offer for fighting him was likely more money. So basically Grovelkin took the lower offer safer fight here. He was overjoyed when Canelo ate mexican meat so that he could avoid that fight and blatantly fight an easy fight and think he could get a pass. His fans of course ate this up.

They can say it was about the date and money but it appears as though GGG didn't want to risk losing before a rematch after Canelo's suspension is served. Or if it really was about the date and money then they should have cancelled altogether. Why hold onto a Mexican American holiday just for a fight that nobody wants to see? It makes no sense. I do want for Golovkin to be stripped by IBF to punish him for this farce.Comment

There is no Canelo fight this September. Canelo is will be coming off a year off and knee surgery. He's taking a tune up. That BS about a Canelo rematch in Sept is being used to justify this BS fight. And if the IBF gives him an exemption they're going to make Sergiy his immediate mandatory so he's gonna have to fight him or drop the belt.
Team GGG is playing it safe. Best case scenario they get a huge fight w Canelo in Sept (which I think is likely). If he loses the IBF for a big payday in September I’m sure he will sleep well at night. I’m sorry, but fighting Sergiy does nothing for Golovkins career. He’s 34 or something. Gotta make his money while he can.Comment

He is giving him the kind of fight he clowned others for.
He I said 36, Canelo will make him wait until May 2019,Team GGG is playing it safe. Best case scenario they get a huge fight w Canelo in Sept (which I think is likely). And his riskiest fight is Canelo, matched by Amir Khan who jumped up two classes to do it.
GGG career is one big excuse. **** him!Comment

So he'll get a pass for doing the same thing Canelo did, dropping the belt because the fight isn't big enough yet?Team GGG is playing it safe. I didn't say I liked the opponent. I was answering why he kept May 5 as a fight date. It's important to his fan base so it's important that Golovkin keep them happy. It's on short notice and with a change of venue and the opponent gets peanuts for the fight no matter who it is. In fact Golovkin takes a huge hit in pay because Canelo was irresponsible. Charlo and Derevyanchenko would be ****** to fight for peanuts now when they are manditories. I don't care what Derevyanchenko says. Charlo already indicated he's not fighting Golovkin at this time and Andrade has a history of talking and not backing it up. Vanes is avaiable he's favored to lose, he doesn't cost much and he wants the fight so that's the way it is. Boxing is a sport and it's also a business.Comment

So stop talking as if they had a lot of time.
That is a steaming pile of crap. None of the people who ducked GGG where being forced to fight him for such a small amount of money and on such short notice. The situations with Felix Sturm, Canelo (before he got his courage from eating special meat) or Cotto.I couldn’t careless if they were factored or not. Am pointing to the hypocrisy with team GGG and the media who back in those days would accuse anyone who wouldn’t fight GGG in the same situation.Comment
