Comments Thread For: Adrien Broner: I Have To Get My Life and Career Together

Former four division world champion Adrien Broner (33-3, 24 KOs) admits that his career is against the wall - when returns this coming Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. He was originally scheduled to face Omar Figueroa, who later withdrew. Now Broner is facing what many feel is a tougher replacement, in two division champion Jessie Vargas (28-2, 10 KOs).

we get this before every fight. i swear before the mikey garcia fight it was meant to be broner v 2.0, hed got himself together, in shape at his best weight and was taking the sport seriously. then he got whooped as he always does against tough opposition. the one thing i'll credit him for is that he takes tough fights but then again hes in defense mode when hes in the ring. i reckon he'll lose to vargas too.

Incredible how people like Broner can enjoy so many opportunities and keep squandering them.

He'll being saying the same thing after Vargas beats him. Dumbass could probably go grope some broads again after losing and still headline another sold out card.

Wow he is only 28, still young but wasted hus life doing deugs and partying.

Broner problem is he stopped throwing more punches, before he would throw a lot of shots, now he is more timid

Isolation is definitely the best thing for Broner!

The Mikey fight was telling for me. Far more telling than his other loses. First off, his game plan was dumb. He came out moving and going backwards against a guy that he was naturally bigger and stronger than. I was at that fight. And told my buddy in the first thirty seconds that the fight was over. Secondly, Broner was undone by Mikey’s technique. Mikey’s technique and positioning are what made Broner timid. That tells me that isn’t a confident fighter and is simply a front runner.

Broner is right. It all begins and ends with him. First he needs to get himself a whole different crew. Secondly, he needs to get a better trainer and lastly he needs to get more disciplined. He needs to conduct himself like an athlete by respecting both his body and the sport in and outside of the ring.
