I'd rather see Broner fight somebody like Danny Garcia. That is, assuming he beats Vargas, which I don't think he will.
As Charlo put it, Broner loses to Vargas, his career is "deleted."
Exactly. Me too.Comment

I agree, if Broner loses to Vargas, he's finished! I want to see Mikey fight the winner of Linares vs. Lomachenko @ 135, and then I would like to see Mikey fight Danny Garcia or Terence Crawford @ 147!Comment

I don’t think Broner is trash. I think he’s a very talented guy. I think he got caught up in a situation where being a star was put ahead of maximizing his potential as a fighter. If you wanna use Floyd as an example. Before he became “Money” Mayweather, he was “Pretty Boy” Floyd. PBF fought “Genaro” Hernandez, Angel Manfready, “Chico” Corrales, and others at 130. Moved up and fought the best lightweight aim Castillo. He begged for fights against big names like Hamed, Mosley, and DLH in those days. He paid his dues. He wasn’t a big draw. He maxed out his ability as a fighter, which in his case was becoming the unquestioned P4P King, before he was able to become a crossover star.Agree with all of this. The guy just isn't very good. He's Mayweather creation. Nothing more. It's crazy how these guys start believing the bull**** instead of buckling down and working harder to maximize the opportunity.
He's been given gifts by the politics of the sport most fighters would cherish. It's funny that the guy who exposed him is one of the best modern examples of taking advantage of opportunities. Maidana cashed out and went home like a boss.
As for Broner, he was pretty much handed a belt at 130. He **** on that by not even trying to make weight a couple fights later. Then he has what is basically his signature win against Demarco winning a belt at lightweight. And instead of settling in there. He and his team decided to try and manufacture an event, moving up two divisions and fighting Malignaggi for a BS belt. And his career has pretty much been downhill since. I still believe had he settled in at lightweight, he would be much better off today.Comment

This is a solid post. He just annoys me lol I hate to see a young guy squander that type of opportunity. In a sport as unforgiving as boxing, it's hard to watch.I don’t think Broner is trash.
