Think it's too late bro. I'm with you but I think it's all but officially a 5th belt now. And it'll be officially sooner or later.

Fighters give belts legitimacy. So, as respected boxers defend the ibo, it will gain stature. At the moment, it's crap

Agreed totally. Should be no more than WBC, WBA, and IBF.

          They’re paying boxingscene?

Yes. Been that way for years. Why do you think boxingscene lists the IBO as a world title and mentions the IBO whenever possible?

The IBO is one of boxingscene's advertisers and a condition of the advertising deal is that boxingscene must recognize the IBO as a world title.

The IBO has had this arrangement with other sites in the past and used to do the same with some magazines as well.

I don’t think anyone cares about it. Everyone knows there is only four major titles in boxing. The only time I see it mention is through the headlines on boxingscene. I have never seen any poster on here mentioning 4 belts with AJ.

                According to who?

Not recognized by the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, HBO, Showtime, Sky Sports, the Hall of Fame, Ring, ESPN, the BBC, etc.

Not considered a world title by anybody credible.

No it’s not, the only people who made mention of it is the media. Even the boxers cringe when they talk about it. From Hatton to Wlad to AJ to Eubank jr... Most of them don’t really want to speak about that belt. Recent AJ interview “I have three belts compare to Wilder’s one belt” as an example.

Now that makes sense, for example I see boxingscene listing it everytime when mentioning AJ. Then I ask myself why?

It's because boxingscene and the IBO have had an arrangement for years where the IBO buys advertising on boxingscene and in exchange, boxingscene must recognize the IBO as a world championship and mention it whenever possible, including adding the IBO to World Boxing Super Series press releases that never actually mentioned the IBO.
