Idk, IBF is probably worse than the WBO.

I agree. It just encourages more to join in the confusion. The WBO wasn't taken seriously for a long time but now it is. When you look at the top 15 rankings of these alphabet places they are very strange. No two rankings are ever even close to the same. They rank boxers most fans never heard of from places they never heard of either. Now they are trying to force GGG to fight a so called number 1 middleweight contender in the world who has had only 12 pro fights. Who did he beat to become the number 1 middleweight contender?

When the IBF started I thought they were bogus as well. After years I changed my opinion.

WBO, IBO, IBA, WBF is all BS.

I was thinking about this the other day. I have an idea about the IBO but maybe it's one for another thread...

For me the ‘main’ belts are the WBC WBA and IBF. WBO just behind them. The IBO is really not in as high a regard and literally only gets seen as one whenever a promoter/fighter tries shoving it in to the situation as though it is one; for recent example, see Hearn-Joshua

The only reason it gets flaunted like this is because of when you get those shots of unified guys with all the belts hanging off them, it adds to the image.

No one gives a shít about the IBO, hate reading articles that state Joshua as having four titles. There are four main titles. He has four belts, not four titles. We all know where the fourth is. Joshua could have had the WBU and it would get used as a prop as a major belt.
Co-sign. And yes, WBC, WBA and IBF are main to me.

                WBO a tier under.

                IBO shouldn’t even be listed.

Exactly, so why even mention it when listing "world titles/chsmpions"?!

Going back to just WBC/WBA would be a step in the right direction!

Obviously that's never gonna happen but adding more is ridiculous.

Or is being paid by the IBO to recognize the title, which is why the title is recognized by boxing scene.
