you guys are making him out to be a complete scrub but he lost a close decision to lara, a split decision to andrade and i didnt see the fight but the report im reading says the fight against charlo 'could have gone either way' and the scorecards were close.
So how come charlo and andrade are amazing opponents but vanes is a joke fight?
not saying hes amazing but he certainly isnt some scrub by looks of it.
makes me laugh, a lot of you guys wank over austin trout (see thread 'everyone should be like trout') but him and vanes both seem to have similar records, falling just short against the top fighters in the division.
In my opinion its a good stay busy fight which should go a few rounds as noone else has stopped him.
Looks more proven than derevyanchenko, unless you think vanes wouldnt be able to beat grandpa soliman.

Problem is Vanes has been off almost 2 years bro, not a good look.

          Correct!

It's not like he's not even a top 10 middleweight, he isn't a middleweight full stop!!

both trout and vanes were considered legit fights at 154 in the past, but that was years ago, today they are nothing but gatekeepers and neither belongs at 160...
people here made fun of boo boo when he was knocked down by vanes, basically vanes will be considered a cherry pick even for 154 champions...

Vanes is 1-2 in his last 3 fights, all at JMW. The win was a MD over Ishe Smith. He hasn't fought in 2 years. derevyanchenko is active and is on a winning streak.

Vanes is a garbage fight. Now it's not GGG's fault that he is in this position. Understanding that, you should also be able to understand that fans want the best fights, especially on "big fight weekend" of Cinco de Mayo.

I also understand that you as a GGG fan don't feel he should have to fight too tough a fight that may jeopardize the Canelo fight in Sept. I agree with you there.

Just be honest-no Canelo so you just want to see GGG knock someone out easily rather than risk fighting derevyanchenko becaue that fight could result in something like Lewis/Vitali where GGG looks real bad and struggles to a win and takes heavy damage.

Vanes would be a cherry pick if Crawford fought him

He’s a career light middleweight, coming off a loss who hasn’t even won a fight since 2015. I’m a big GGG fan but this fight is absolutely terrible!
