I think Vanes whatever his name is sucks as an opponent. Sure he's got good height, reach and some skills. But he's been inactive and wasn't really setting the world on fire before that. I would prefer GGG just pushed his next fight until June when BJS would be ready for a unification fight. Or maybe he could take on one of his mandatories to get them out of the way. I would be happy with that. But at the at the same time, I am not the guy getting up every morning doing long runs in the altitude to build up my cardio. I am not the one doing hard sparring sessions. I am not the guy pay for the camp. I am not the one who has to make sure the show turns a profit. So I understand that in a short notice situation as extreme as this one someone like Vanes could be viewed by K2 promotions as a worthwhile option.

Regarding Canelo, I agree. I don't think GGG should plan his schedule based upon the idea of fighting Canelo in September. He might risk wasting more of his time. I also don't think I would work with Golden Boy for a while if I were GGG's team considering they couldn't get that Irish no-hoper of theirs to sign on the dotted line.
'People like me', huh? I can understand exactly why he'd take Vanes as a short name opponent - I don't like it, but I do believe he got what he could on short money and short notice and to express it a different way it doesn't bother me and due to the circumstances I won't be blaming Golovkin for making that fight although I do reserve the right to say that the fight itself is, frankly, a bit ****.

Golovkin's credibility? I meant what I said. He needs to take care of business and stop following the ginger kid around. I like him as a fighter, always will - been a bit of a cheerleader since I started posting here back in 2013, but I've never felt that his insistence on holding out for the big names was a good look, however understandable. Mostly it didn't really matter but turning away from the Saunders' unification last year was a real mistake in my eyes, and basically showed that GBP were calling all the shots.

A hastily arranged Zurdo fight does big numbers on Cinco.

Is their time to alter training it’s late notice for a guy perceived as a credible challenge, I’m sure their would be no issue if it was Wade being ordered mind.

I’d prefer he fought Deveranychenko out of all the options, BJS just isn’t feasible and that’s the only fight I’d prefer more. Charlo and Andrade ain’t ready imo plus those fights could be built well, Charlo next after the BJS fight but we all know Clenelo will be up in September in Vegas, BJS gonna have to wait until next year.

Here's what I would like. Golovkin to face Saunders and Canelo this year. Of course assuming he wins the first so he can take on the second. I do not have any particular order just that he hopefully faces both guys this year. If that means Canelo in September and Saunders in December fine. If it means Saunders first then Canelo okay.

The reality I believe is he will wait for Canelo in September. I think Canelo needs this fight now more than ever. Of course Golovkin will want the fight. He wants to prove (again) he is the better fighter and of course the huge pay day. Depending on the outcome (GGG wins) then he'll face Saunders. While I would like it to this year I tend to think that fight would be early 2019 (January?).

I think it is unlikely Golovkin will face Saunders in June. Golovkin does two month training games, I don't see him extending it to three months. They have said they do not want to over train in the past. Also he risk the big pay day against Canelo.

That's how I see it playing out. From the business standpoint it makes the most sense. I think this is one of the principle reason why he is insisting on fighting in May. Fight May, rest from 5/6 to mid July and then train for two months for Canelo.

Its unfortunate but I am in complete agreement with you. That's why I am ok with the Vanes Mayerwhatshsname getting the fight on May 5th. At least GGG will still sharp.
