Matchroom is more about pricing Wilder out of the fight than they are ensuring AJ is properly paid. Said differently, even with a 50/50 split..I imagine this would be AJ's biggest pay day too. I can only assume Matchroom knows this will be the last milking from the cash cow so they are holding on to the ******* extra, extra hard.Comment

I must have missed that part in the offer being referenced in this article. Can you please point to that for us? Especially since this is not a split that can be reversed. It's a flat fee. How is that even possible? Does this article reference the part of the contract where they derive the flat fee's % from the total purse and use that in the rematch? Once again...it's all coming to a close soon anyway.Last edited by JohnP2; 04-11-2018, 06:59 AM.Comment

Wilder said it's got nothing to do with money and he doesn't care about money.
So what does he do when offered 6X his largest reported purse? Rejects it for the reason he's not happy with the money. Lol
This is like when he rejected Whyte for $7m said it's not about money but he'll fight him for a few million more. LolComment

Haymon told Espinoza these guys are rookies. They don’t know how to negotiate. They hear Wilders big mouth and take what he says personally when they shouldn’t. And then they come up with that garbage flat fee, take it or leave it, you have 48 hours offer.Comment

Source?
I believe Hearn and Harmon have a good working relationship. Hearn said as much. He said it's easy to work with Haymon. Hearn has also put on huge events and been in the game a long time.
I'd be interested to see the source though.Comment

Maybe Wilder and his team should take lead as the main promoter and come up with a flat fee for Joshua and make it a 50-/50 purse. After all isn't Wilder the one that brings the crowd, the ratings and is the undisputed champion and his team the one that generates all the money and interest?
Maybe they will counter offer and make it 50/50 and pay Wilder what he wants which is probably $20m or so. Maybe not.Comment

I’m the source. "The contract does not indicate where the fight will take place, when it will take place, or even whether it will be Joshua’s next fight".Comment
